They stopped moving on offense the last five minutes.

Maybe Westbrook should enter the slam dunk competition. It would give him some incentive to practice.

Melo has 21 points but he has probably given up over 30 pts. Been the same story all season, he’s just as trash as Westbrook as far as I’m concerned.

Any win on the road is a good win.
I don't like that we've given up 120+ points but I'll take the W.
The bleeding needed to stop.

You can't just assume a win on the road in the NBA. A loss would have been devastating in psychological terms for the team.

Monk did not disappoint in his start. Stanley Johnson did due to his four missed triples and five fouls. Having four guys with over 20 points is the way to go. That kind of shot distribution, sharing the wealth, is something that has been sorely missing from this team, even if they did just go straight to LeBron for the last five minutes of the game.

Next up, Memphis.

They went to Lebron in screen and roll though, so that's promising. Only 1 attempt of that iso 30 footer BS.

Funny you mention him, I was just thinking about him the other day and wondering if he will get a 10 day contract as well with all these covid absences.

Imagine giving up 123 points to one of the worst teams in the league...

Imagine starting LeBron James at center. They gave up a lot of points in the paint, especially in the second and third quarters.

Honestly, Monk compliments Lebron on offense better than anyone on the roster besides AD. Ideally, you want to match as many of Monks minutes with Lebrons as possible and its also ideal to separate as many of Lebron/Westbrooks minutes as possible, so this actually makes sense imo.

Monk has done a good job the last couple years of learning to play within the flow of an offensive system, which makes him a nice complimentary piece alongside oversized playmakers like Lebron (and LaMelo Ball, Charlotte should have tried to keep him). On most teams hes still better off in a 6th man role imo, but I think the Lakers are one of the teams you could make a case for him as a starter. Problem is hes a very bad defensive fit with Westbrook and Russ will likely never accept a 6th man role.

The hatred is real on Westbrook and to a point I get it. Committing 7 turnovers is plain disgusting, how I wish he gets punished for every dumb turnovers he commits after 3 errors.
But the dude last night had 24/12/10 plus 2 steals with a +9-2nd to best for starters. Most fans are hailing the "impact" of Stanley Johnson who had worst -7 missing 5 of 8 shots including 0-4 from 3. I get that his energy is needed and it's sad that we don't see it in most of these players with guaranteed contracts.

Ugh... missed a rare Laker win this month! Boxscore shows an efficient offensive night for more than just a couple for a change. That said, we won this one making shots it seems because the shooting % against don't show that our defense improved much. We rebounded well for a change as well.

Did we figure anything out or was is just a broken clock coincidence?

Can't really say that we figured anything out other than small ball will need to be played during stretches of the season depending on match ups.

We made a lot of shots.
They made a lot of shots. There was very little defense, specially on the perimeter. For those of us who enjoy watching hard work on D, it wasn't pretty to watch.

LBJ had a great overall game. Russ had a good statistical game and he played hard. He did a few very good things but some head scratching bad things. He is just not there mentally.
Monk and Bradley were very good.
And Melo made some key shots but is just awful on D. Nothing new there.

Thanks! That was what I inferred from the Box Score.

Westbrook has never not done head scratching things. The Nuke Laloosh of basketball. Million dollar talent.... .05 head.

Well, maybe we can shoot our selves back to .500...
