That sucks. I always liked him. If he is done we should trade them Payne and Dario for Lauri.

This would be awesome if it was actually accurate! I suppose if you don't consider:
1- Rebounding.
2- perimeter defense.
3- Turnovers.
4- Shot selection from our bench to a lesser extent.
Then Yes! Looking past those things ( with have killed us in our losses) and are still unresolved, We have no glaring weaknesses. Let's see how we're affected by having to play our starters ( especially Paul and Booker) heavy minutes to offset these issues, rather than actually addressing later in the season and upon entering the playoffs. It'd be much better to acknowledge these weaknesses now and address them now as opposed to wearing out key players before we even get to the playoffs, Because we chose to ignore them.

I guess never mind!Today, with a wide range of feelings, I'm announcing my retirement from basketball. IMMENSE GRATITUDE to everyone (family, friends, teammates, coaches, staff, fans) involved in my life in the last 23 years. It's been a fabulous journey.

Yikes okay I was wrong about Suns not winning another game this yr, they better win this by 20+ even without Ayton and Crowder.

Brutal. He’s probably one of the most easy to root for guys in this league. That Cavs team was looking good too and he was a major part of it. Absolutely sucks all the way around.

Yeah, and the problem is that he had the same huge injury in 2012.

Yeah, Sorry man. I tried to locate the Twitter announcement and couldn't. Only this particular statement clip and the Twitter reference link that goes to nothing really. But then I also found this article:
https://digismak.com/olympic-basketball-australian-aron-baynes-retires-after-slip-in-bathroom/
Aside from this, This is what I came across today ( 12/ 29/ 21).
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.abc.net.au/article/100551524
The 34-year-old had taken himself off the court due to an injury, but it was the slip in the change rooms that caused the most serious damage.
Baynes was hospitalised for the remainder of the Boomers' Olympics campaign and had to be stretchered off the plane upon returning to Australia.
He had already been waived by his most recent NBA team Toronto Raptors, but his hopes of landing a deal elsewhere were thwarted by the injury.
His manager, Daniel Moldovan, confirmed Baynes will sit out the entire 2021/22 NBA campaign to focus on his recovery.
Moldovan said Baynes was hopeful of making a return to the court the following season.
Mystery has surrounded the exact nature of the injury and just how limited Baynes is in his day-to-day life.
Boomers coach Brian Goorjian has tried to reach out to Baynes since the Olympics without any luck.
So perhaps that statement from somewhere on Twitter was inaccurate! Baynes would look to return in 2023?

Wait!!! I just found this!
The retirement statement portion was apparently part of Manu Ginoblis' retirement statement. And some AZZAT!!! put it directly under Aaron Baynes Twitter handle. So when I searched Aaron Baynes, it came up like this in the search engine.
Here's the real statement in its entirety:
Aron Baynes (@aronbaynes) Tweeted:
Honour to play with you mate! ?s=20
My bad for not making the distinction sooner. It looks like he'll be sitting out this 2022 season hoping for a full recovery to return to the court in 2023?

You are Jalen Smith. The Celtics GM comes to you with a Godfather offer: Brad Stevens for James Jones and a player of your choosing.
Do you pull the trigger?
Totally absurd notion for sure! And not sure why in hell the Celtics GM comes to Smith for anything at all!!! But I'll play along. A PLAYER OF MY CHOOSING HUH?...LOL.....................
Jones has been very solid. But I'll take Brad Stevens and one slightly used JAYSON TATUM!!!

This is kind of ridiculous, but anyway, the player would be a player going from the Suns. They can take Payton, though maybe Shamet makes more sense given his salary (but since I don't pay the tax, Payton, unless Shamet keeps us from signing a difference maker or having to match an offer for Ayton that allows him to be an UFA in 3 years when he'd be way more expensive).
