Pacers sign Terry Taylor to 2 Way; waive Jarreau

No word on who is getting released. Either Washington or Jarreau would have to go to open the spot.

Taylor is a wing currently leading the G League in rebounding with over 12 per game.

Beat me to it. I’m guessing Jarreau. Taylor was a good rebounder in summer league. Rebounding prowess would be like Alize Johnson.

Ft Wayne traded Jarreau, so clearly the Pacers were not impressed

Wiretap says Jarreau after being traded within the G-League got a call up to a 10 day with Houston.

I thought he had good handles in limited summer league games, but shooting wasn’t anything special. Also thought Sykes was more impressive of possible future end of bench talent.

Nice return in getting a first round draft pick for 2022 plus a player.

I really do hope we sign Taylor to a full deal. I expect his production to dip if/when he gets more minutes and teams figure him out, but he just plays winning basketball.

I haven't even cooled on Washington Jr. either and think he's a keeper, but like Taylor more if we convert one with our open spot. That's how impressive he has been.

Terry Taylor can be so valuable for the future Pacers teams.

His determination to rebound and defend his space is undeniable. He’s very talented at put backs for easy scores. Not sure about his driving and cutting abilities but I haven’t seen issues yet.

If Taylor can effectively keep taller players from posting him up too deeply in the lane and improve his outside shot he’s got a great shot at becoming an outstanding role player.

I’m so impressed by how energized Terry, Isiah, and Oshae play for their NBA experience.

Whats been up with the decrease of his playing time last 2 games? 18 minutes vs OKC and just 2 minutes tonight. Obviously Brodgon returning but he's on a "pitch" count, and Washington got 11 minutes.

I would think it’s Jackson, Goga, and Smith being healthy, combined with the emergence of Oshae that’s cutting into his minutes.

which can be summarized as saying he's still a small ball center needing a lot of practice time to be a forward.

Have to remember Washington, Taylor, and Sykes got opportunity to show their skills due to injuries and Covid absences.

They’re end of bench young talent unlike our draft choices Jackson and Duarte. I believe their minutes will be sparse rest of the season.
