The Portland depth chart for center is Nurkic, Zeller, Nance, Covington and Watford. All of them are out except Nance. I don't see any tall guys on their roster available to play center. I think 20 year old 6'7" Greg Brown may be their backup center tonight. Nance is also listed at 6'7".

Nance and Brown are both decent rebounders, but Gobert and Whiteside should be able to overwhelm them on the glass. In addition, Gobert and Whiteside need to punish them on offense, especially Whiteside. Whiteside can shoot three to five foot jumpers over the tops of them.

Nance is only attempting 1.6 3pa/game and hitting them at 30%, while Greg Brown has never made a three pointer, so both these small ball centers are unlikely to be as effective as Nicholas Batum was for drawing Gobert out of the paint. Go Jazz!

It's interesting to see that Quin closed that half with Gay instead of his regular go to, his starters

Portland uh...might suck. I'll decide when the game is over but...

The Jazz dominated the paint like I hoped they would given the Jazz size advantage. The Jazz scored 74 points in the paint to the Blazers' 30. Whiteside and Gobert ended up having the game's highest productivity/min rankings, with Whiteside #1 and Gobert #2.

See productivity/min, help value and efficiency in this link.

I've been watching the games live broadcast and trying not to nap too long during the games. Lol. I forgot to notice how or with who the Jazz shut down Powell in Q3 after he killed us in the first half scoring 25 points on 12 fga. Powell went just 0-1 in Q3 and 3-10 in Q4. A halftime adjustment worked.

5 assists again! Boler mentioned during the broadcast that Clarkson is now purposefully thinking more about getting others involved. I hope he keeps it up! I think talented Clarkson hunting down some assists could be a key to the Jazz being real contenders. Go Jazz!

In a different thread, I mentioned how much of an impact JC would have on opposing teams I should be become a more lethal assist guy to go with his already unstoppable offensive motor and scoring ability. I love how he has changed his game to attack the rim more and then take 3's when they are given, not every time down the floor. JC's creativity and improved overall game will be huge during playoff's. His defense has improved, his rebounding has improved, his assists have improved and while his scoring has dropped slightly, his overall efficiency has made him even more valuable IMHO.

Man, I hate to agree bc I have loved Joe since he first made the team after Doc Rivers cut him from the Clippers. It's amazing to see the drop off and actually a bit sad. Maybe Q needs to give him a few games off to get some renewed energy and mental focus. He has been making some really lame passes and mental mistakes. I have loved him and even have his jersey, but if he continues down this path, that will not be good for the Jazz come playoff's.

Problem is he probably needs 5-6 games off and needs to play less than 20 minutes per game up until the playoffs if we keep him, I was worried about him falling off a cliff this season, I appear to be right.

I've been waiting and hoping for Snyder to give him the green light on passing. Finally.

Uh oh. We've probably jinxed Clarkson with all this optimism and he will probably get 2 assists with 3 tovs for the next few games. Lol.
