When he was shooting 40+% from 3 he was at least somewhat useful…but true to Philly luck, other than last years shortened season, we’ve gotten an average to bad shooter. Take away the 3 and the only other offensive game he has is backing down a smaller player. And he’s too much of a tweezer on D to be any kind of factor.

Unless Tobi’s shot drastically improves the Sixers are going to be overpaying him until the contract is up or attaching assets to get rid of him.

And we’ve known it since he was in Orlando.

He should play with a guy who is bigger or plays bigger than him (bigger than Ben) that can shoot the ball.

That is so when his shot is not falling, he can post up or attack smaller guys or run 2 man games and score on pull up jumpers.

This current set-up where he plays PF with 3 guards at the 1-2-3 positions is exposing his size and defensive problems that he spent all his career in non-pro to pro hiding.

This is why we’ve been running a Niang-Tobi 3&4 duo. But its far from ideal.

Its been mentioned a lot last season, but his scoring relies a lot on pace and transition. And this year we tried to slow down the pace and this is hurting his scoring numbers.

Im not blaming external factors for his inferiority as a player. Im just saying why he is struggling.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Yeah, and if you look at his statements, he's all like, "I know my value, I came here to win a championship" etc. (https://sixerswire.usatoday.com/2021/02/05/tobias-harris-opens-up-on-pressure-of-max-contract-sixers-in-bubble/), but in reality he feeds off of fast breaks, weak and small defenders and shoots little threes. In the half-court offense he grabs into his "bag of tricks" too often, disappears in key moments and is a bad defender. So he is the antithesis of a championship player lol.
I think that there is even a slight disconnect between what the other GM's think of him and what we think of him, since it seems that at least Doc loves him more than he should. I'm not sure what Morey thinks of him and how much of a priority is it to trade him (since there was absolutely zero talk about it), but I hope it is a priority.

I am not really opposed to moving Harris I am opposed to moving Harris just to get him off the team.

The offense already runs too much through Embiid. We've already overpaid Harris and given him too big of a role on offense but it's hard to envision how we navigate a trade capped out and end up getting better.

I think ideally for me at this point the best thing would be to trade for another scorer and sort of have him take some of the possessions away from Harris and some of the pressure off Embiid. Grant would be perfect. I don't know what it would take to acquire him but if we replace Harris with Niang and keep Green in the starting lineup you are only putting additional pressure on Maxey to create offense or Embiid.

Niang is not going to all of sudden take 15 shots a game. He is a stretch 4 at this point. I personally think the best sort of solution to harris is to get another scorer and take the pressure off him to be something he is not even though he maybe paid as though he is

We need to get Carmelo Anthony for the minimum next year, like 30 times cheaper and not that much difference compared to Harris, he can come off the bench for us and play more minutes when he gets hot, sit and play few minutes when he sucks.

Here's a trade idea for Tobias:

Tobias, Shake, Isaiah Joe and a First round pick to the Hawks for Gallinari, Cam Reddish and Delon Wright.

My Ben trade idea is to move him for Jaylen Brown.

That's would make our new line up:

Embiid/Drummond/Bassey
Gallinari/Niang/Paul Reed
Cam Reddish/Matisse
Jaylen Brown/Furkan/Delon Wright
Curry/Maxey

Dallas seems an easy mark for a Tobias deal.

They have some questionable characters in their locker room, Tobias reads books!

They have a bunch of guys not living up to their contracts, Tobias puts up a bunch of fake stats!

Would the Hawks really be interested in that? They already have John Collins locked in on big money.

Love and Okoro for Tobi and Shake? Anyone think Cleveland would do it?

Love being an expiring contract going into next season + young assets of Okoro and Maxey would open so many more trade options for Morey.

Would be essentially be punting this current season…not sure how much it matters unless a miracle Ben trade happens tho

I think someone mentioned it before, but Harris/Shake for Hardaway/Kleber would be killer for us.

Maxey/Curry/(Simmons)
Hardaway/Korkmaz/Springer
Green/Thybulle/Joe
Kleber/Niang/Reed
Embiid/Drummond/Bassey

Danny Green and Tobias for John Wall and a minimum salary guy or second rounder from Houston, throw what is left of Wall into the backcourt and then feel free to trade Ben for any position.

Tobias and Springer
For
Gordon, Wood and Porter Jr

Houston gets a high character guy in Tobias to lead the young guys Green and Sengun, and a young guy to develop

Philly gets a young guard for cheap that Doc and Embiid can be able to check, a great shooter in Gordon and a big who can shoot

The Harris for THJ/Kleber has quite a few yes votes on the T&T board.

Let’s make it a reality Morey!

So Tobi is now yelling at the home fans. No Ben Simmons to deflect from your massive shortcomings and bloated arse contract now.

Somebody please get a memo to Morey to ship that sorry arse outta here. Addition by subtraction.

Harris, Springer, PHI 1st lotto protected, and two future 2nds to DET for Grant and Olynyk.

Tobi hits a bucket up 14 and tells the fans not to clap

I can’t believe Embiid is stuck on a team built around himself and these two clowns. Shame.
