I doubt Lebron leaves LA, but he is the ultimate opportunist mercenary. So, if he really thinks it's a lost cause then I guess it wouldn't exactly surprise anyone if he bolted elsewhere as soon as his contract is up.

Rubio being out for the season after the year he/the Cavs have been having is a crime to basketball.

LeBron has one more year on his deal at $44.5 million. Not that he can't force a trade if he wants out. But I don't see him leaving. He'll just put on his GM hat and redo the roster again.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Does he become a big expiring contract in a Simmons deal now?

Happened to turn this one on for the final minute. Awesome finish. Dallas' defense was abysmal on that last play.

No comments here on Lebron totally f’ing up the last possession in Memphis? Looked like a rook jumping with nowhere to pass to.

I think Anthony Davis will be out of LA before LeBron.

Which would be great theater if Lakers traded Davis after tampering for an entire season 3 years ago.randy84 wrote:MickeyDavis wrote:LeBron has one more year on his deal at $44.5 million. Lebron, errr, I mean "Pelinka" calls up Horst in the offseason and offers up AD for Jrue and our 1st. What do you do?

Not sure we need a rich man’s Bobby Portis.

Have we already won a second title? Lakers would never do it. I’d think long and hard about it.

Strong pass.

Only under the assumption that we fall short of a Finals berth of course, and Giannis would obviously have to be on board. But I think there's a scenario out there with Lebron where he becomes desperate enough to sell low on AD rather than banking on him staying healthy. At this point he has to know they need to do whatever they can to dump Westbrook's contract while also realizing that AD is really the only valuable asset they have.
That said, yeah. Unless we just get annihilated in a playoff series in like, 5-games, I probably don't do that deal. Which is crazy to think about given how the last 365 days have altered the perception and value of both Jrue and AD.

Simmons wont make them better and they will give huge advantage to76ers
I’m not so sure. The Celtics are crying out for someone who can distribute the ball on that team. They wouldn’t give up anything defensively and he’d bring a better flow to the offence beyond just Tatum and Brown iso plays.

Re: ATL - Isaiah Stewart 2, LBJ 1
LeBron left a super team in Miami to join a dumpster fire franchise in Cleveland because he wanted to play close to his home. He won a title in Cleveland and made the Finals every year and still left to go to an even bigger dumpster fire franchise because he had Hollywood aspirations.
LeBron has proven he's not a ring chaser and I don't think his Hollywood aspirations have diminished so I don't see him going anywhere.

Let's not act like him going to Cleveland, to team up with a 21 year old All-Star and a 25 year old 2nd team All-NBAer, was slumming it.

That's a rather interesting way to spin LeBron leaving the NBA betting favorites to join a 33-49 team. A team that went 4-23 in the games LeBron didn't play in over his four year tenure.
