Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
Let’s say LeBron asks for a trade by deadline.
Would you do this?
Sixers:
LeBron James
Harrison Barnes
Marvin Bagley
2023 Kings first round pick
Kings:
Ben Simmons
^Fox-Jabari Smith?-Ben-Haliburton lead team.
Lakers:
Tobias Harris
Tyrese Maxey
2022 Sixers 1st Round Pick
2023 Sixers Pick Swap Option
2025 Kings 1st Round Pick
Reason:
Compete next two seasons with LeBron and Embiid led team then have the Kings pick and max cap space as a hedge for a post LeBron era.
Sixers:
Seth
Danny Green
Barnes
LeBron
Embiid
Bench:
Milton
Kork
Drummond
Niang
Bagley

Yes, we’d have the exact same odds to win a championship, but be in a much better situation with cap and tradeable assets.
Honestly, the most ridiculous/unrealistic part of the trade is that any team would actually take Ben and Tobi in the same trade…or probably even Tobi in general

Would you do this trade?
Sixers:
Bradley Beal
Spencer Dinwiddie
Bertans
KCP
Wizards:
Ben Simmons
Tyrese Maxey
Tobias Harris
Why for the Wizards:
Just as mediocre but more promise with Maxey’s upside.
Why for the Sixers:
You’re buying low on both Dinwiddie and Beal. Once they find their groove, they can average 18-20ppg and 30ppg respectively.

Well, if anything could put an immediate end to my lifetime Sixers fandom, that would certainly do the trick.

I believe Raps is OK with this trade and has it on the table.
Sixers:
Siakam
Raps:
Ben Simmons
2022 1st Round Pick (unprotected)
2023 1st Round Pick Swap Option
2024 1st Round Pick (unprotected)
If it is real then I’d counter with..

Ujiri would laugh so hard he would spit out his coffee. Unless his goal was to turn the Raptors into the Sixers North Minus Embiid while solving our main problems, why on earth would he consider that for a second?

Nice right?
Go to Raptors board. They’re even discussing Jarett Allen, Kevin Love and Cavs pick for Siakam. I think most of them wants to move on with Siakam.
I think Siakam’s upside is with his shooting. He made 2.2 3s on 36% shooting on 60 games in regular season during 2018-2019 while he shoots around 80% on FT%, a lot of the Raps fans seems worried about his shooting for the last two season and they want to dispose him.
I believe Siakam can be a top tier player on our team. Nobody can stop Siakam and Embiid frontcourt while both guys can defend multiple position and make us the top defensive team in the league.
Ben Simmons
Trent Jr.
OG
Tobias Harris
Scottie Barnes
Boucher
I do think thats more than a sixers without Embiid team.
Then next season they can add another star to superstar player with one of the most loaded draft in my opinion.

If only Ujiri was as delusional as their fan base. I'd love to plug Siakam in place of Tobias. How about just our version of the Cavs trade - Tobi, Drummond and our 1st for Siakam? Then move Simmons for Fox.
We would suffer a bit defensively with some lineups, but this would be a far superior offensive team.
Fox / Maxey
Curry / Milton / Joe
Green / Thybulle
Siakam / Reed
Embiid / Bassett

Can't have Harris and Siakam together, so you'll have to add a 3rd team for that.
DAL gets Harris
PHI gets Hardaway, Siakam, and VanVleet
TOR gets Powell, Simmons, Maxey, and PHI 1st
VanVleet/Curry/Milton
Hardaway/Korkmaz/Springer
Green/Thybulle/Joe
Siakam/Niang/Reed
Embiid/Drummond/Bassey

Ujiri will only trade Siakam with Ben in return, along with picks. Tobi actually does not fit to what he is building.

I'd sign for that, but no way Dallas takes the Harris contract without moving Porzingas.

Does Dallas even look at Zinger as a negative? I'd assume Hardaway and Powell was such a cheap price they can't say no. They'd still be under the tax even with the extra salary.

The problem with Siakam is a fit issue. Jarret Allen gives the Raps everything they need in a C as im sure you saw how weak up front they were in the last game where Embiid just bullied them with size (didnt need to do anything else). Simmons on the Raps beside Barnes/OG has the same fit issues as Siakam. From a poor shooting forward to a non-shooting forward
Raps fans (at least, dont know about management) are willing to lose value on Siakam for a young C like Allen. Dont know where Simmons fits in long term with Barnes, who all decisions are based around atm

The two guys they're sending out are negative value, and Tobias has a whole bunch of fake stats to like.

Then three way Ben to Cavs, where Cavs (and the Raps) looks very interested in Ben even before the season started.
I do think Ujiri projects Barnes to be a better shooter while see not a big difference between Ben and Siakam’s value and projects Siakam’s shooting to be plateauing.
By doing the trade he sees a team not different from the team he has now with more picks that he can use to trade up.
Another perspective is I dont think there’s teams out there that would give a player of Ben’s caliber (near equal to Siakam) and 1-2 picks.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
I actually thought people will point out the spacing problem of Siakam and Embiid. Glad to see people being mature enough to see how Embiid is trending to be Dirk Nowitzki and not Shaquille O’neal, like how i think he should and will be back even before 2019 and before.
Embiid is taking less than 20% of his FGAs at the rim. Most of his FGAs are at the midrange. Teams wont be able to help off Siakam, because Siakam alone is a threat that needs to be doubled in the paint and he will even be able to open up Embiid for jumpers.
The way to defend Siakam or Giannis is to put your center at them. But you wont be able to do that if they play with Embiid.
Defensively, Embiid can step out on those pick and rolls because Siakam can rotate to the rim and protect the rim. Kind of how Cavs is running their defense that has been a revelation for people who have doubts whether a dual big frontcourt may work on defense.
Offensively, with Siakam and Embiid there’s less pressure for you to hope you end up with a top tier guard because you have two reliable guys that can bail you out. So you can have Maxey or Seth running dribble drives and if its denied you can just dump it to your bigs.
If you need a 3, you can run pick and pop with Seth or any guard. If the defense switch, pass it to Embiid and let him shoot over the smaller defender.
Whenever you need to score Down the stretch or whenever you need a three, you just follow the Mavs or the Spurs blueprint.
And who knows.. maybe Siakam can revert back to his 2.2 3pt makes on 36% shooting in 2018-2019 if not, we’re prepared for it by mr.25

Masai is not trading for Harris as he covets athleticism and defence
Even munchkins like FVV & Lowry are strong as bulls & top defenders
People also need to realise that Tobias & Ben are highly unlikely to be traded to the same team unless Simmons comes at a massive discount to make up for the Harris contract
