The Lakers are in a really tough spot right now. They desperately need to make a trade but they don’t have any draft picks and nobody wants Russell Westbrook. THT is their only player with any value and he’s not even that good. Quite frankly they were loaded with talented young players over the years and they blew it. I don’t feel sorry for them.

I know the Lakers are in need of some depth and a guy I always liked is Kendrick Nunn who has been out with a bone bruise and H&S protocols. Maybe a deal for Svi and Bonga who were in their system, could be of interest. Toronto likely includes Malachi Flynn to move on from the project. Lebron always makes shooters look great so this might make sense for the Lakers.

Nunn immediately becomes a good back-up PG and adds some needed scoring power to the bench. This deal opens up roster spots so Toronto can keep guys like DJ Wilson and Waters who I really have been impressed with. Nunn is better than most back-ups in the NBA and can spot start easily. Played in Miami and managed to play over even Herro at times there.

This is hilarious. They still think THT has that kind of value lmao

I wonder if Cleveland could be an option for Goran now due to Rubio’s injury

What would be something that works in terms of contracts and would be potentially interesting for us?

It is a pretty easy trade of Spurs 2nd 2022 and Rubio for Dragic. Saves us enough under the tax to sign 15th man. But I think Cleveland might "have higher ambitions"
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

The Lakers as usual will be tied to every potential trade rumor. The simple fact is they're not trading AD nor LBJ and they have no other tradable assets. Nobody wants Russ. Their bench is non-existent they'll be lucky to make the 8th seed only to get bounced in the first round.

Absolutely embarrassing. How can you have a basketball podcast, NOT know if GTJ is a good defender AND think that you could use THT as a centerpiece in a trade for him?

This is straight up casual garbage that they are even entertaining this.

Boucher + OG for Jaylen Brown works out salary wise.

FVV
Brown
Barnes
Siakam
Birch

and Brown is someone we hope OG would turn into. Brown has above average defense.

Raptors probably won't do the trade because Brown isn't a superstar. and trading OG means we lose an asset for an all-in move. Jaylen Brown, imho, isn't an all-in move. its an upgrade but not championship contender status upgrade. ofc you could move Brown later on.

but also Brown is the better player today. and only 1 year older. i think they should look into it. Ainge isn't there anymore so maybe that trade works out.

Something like this can probably happen in the future especially if the Js experiment fails again this year. I think we would need to add a FRP though, which I'm fine as long as it's lottery protected.

That said I'd rather we explore trading Siakam before we look to trade OG (not necessarily for Brown). If Siakam can net us some combination of center/bench depth/picks, we may end up being a better team than swapping OG for Brown.

Fred, Trent, OG, Barnes, Good Center + at least average bench is a pretty good team. Our starter would be able to hold their own, and if our bench doesn't suck it'll help a lot lol. Barnes may end up being the 1A that we need in a few years.

Guys most teams around the league think og is nothing special. A solid defender with upside but nothing special. We’re not getting jalen brown for him.

Disagree, OG is a valuable asset. One of the best, if not the best 3&D player on an insanely cheap contract for his position.

BUT, they aren't giving up Jaylen Brown for him lol.

Id argue that og plus Barnes is enough to net any player that becomes available in the league.

I would keep OG .. I would trade Pascal for Jaylen Brown. I think value wise, what OG brings to the team is way more valuable then what Pascal brings to the team. OG can space the floor and he is already one of the best wing defenders. Having him alongside Barnes who are trying to develop as our marquee player and getting scorer like Brown would make us more balanced and much better team.

Boston would consider Pascal for Brown ... Pascal can play the 4 and would compliment their star player Tatum. Raptors should consider OG & Barnes untouchable.. the only two players they should keep unless they are getting Giannis in return .

Return to Toronto Raptors
