How many All-Stars for Warriors this year?
How many Warriors will be an all-star this season? I think Steph and Draymond are a lock, but will Wiggins sneak in there as a forward?

Re: How many All-Stars for Warriors this year?
I think Wiggins will make it, at least as an injury replacement if not “fully”.
Looking at the forwards (and hybrid centers) in the Western Conference, 2 “locK” All-Stars are completely out (Kawhi, Zion); PG13 and Davis are both currently hurt and not sure exactly how long they’ll be out, so one or both of them may not be available for (or may skip) the game……
Looking across the conference, locks at forward are Lebron, Luka, Draymond (I think, though he can be polarizing because of low scoring), then……..? Probably Ingram, despite the Pelicans’ poor record. But beyond that, it looks like guys like Mikal Bridges, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Jaren Jackson Jr are in a similar tier with Wiggins.
I think the way he could miss out is also if they go really unbalanced within the All-Star roster to maximize the number of guards who make it. I mean, which of the following guys isn’t an All-Star this year: Curry, Mitchell, Conley, Booker, Lillard, Morant? The answer might be Lillard…… which would have been almost unthinkable coming into the year.

If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Just Steph/Dray imo. Wiggins has been great, but I don't think he should beat out Bridges/Edwards at the 3 and the guard spots are loaded.
Steph/CP3
Booker/Mitchell
Bridges/Edwards
LeBron/Dray
Jokic/Gobert/Towns
Lots of competition for the last guard spot - Dame, Conley, Morant, Murray, maybe Mitchell if he's out for a bit.
And this is without including Luka, who I don't think actually should get in this season, but assuredly will.

Agree on Wiggins as replacement all-star. Are replacements named by the commissioner? If so he may prefer to pick a more marketable "star" than Wiggins, or he may go for Wiggins to get more Canadian support. Who knows.
Curry is a lock.
Dray deserves to go.

It seems a little unlikely the Jazz send 3 to the ASG.
Several "worthy" players are going to stay home it seems. It's possible AD, Ingram, Lillard, Conley, PG13, and Luka could all end up not playing in the game.

there is actually a decent chance Wiggy makes it, no Klay/Kawhi, George just got hurt, might be between him and Bridges.

19/4.6/1.8 vs 12/4.1/1.8 really? How is Mikal an all star? Miles ok. But Mikal?

He's the Suns defensive stopper ... but then Wiggins has been very good there too.

Re: How many All-Stars for Warriors this year?
Wiggins is listed as front court so his chance is better. Kawhi and PG13 are hurt. If we beat the Jazz and keep the top record, the coaches might select Wiggins.
Hard to justify 3 all stars unless you have the top record.
Coaches like 2 way players and Wiggins has been a great story. Coaches like to reward that.
Competition will be Ayton or Bridges. Again if we have the top record, then Wiggins should edge out given his current play, and how he came along over the years.

Because basketball is about more than scoring and counting stats. Mikal is an All-Star in the same way Draymond is – because they impact winning. Mikal also has a +10.1 on/off net rating which is by far the best on the Suns (for reference: Booker is at +3.7, Paul at -0.4, Ayton at -1.8). Not the be-all and end-all but it illustrates the point.

Re: How many All-Stars for Warriors this year?
Kawhi/Zion injured
Davis/George could miss due injuries
Jokic/Green/Lebron lock
Gobert/KAT lock
If Davis/George will miss, Ayton or Wiggs would have a case.
1. GSW needs to be 1st in the West
2. Davis/George needs dont play
3. Both Paul/Booker and Gobert/Mitchell needs to be on AllStar team
If all 3 become true, Wiggs would have very good chance over Ayton.

Really depends who is voted in. Frontcourt is a little crowded.
Curry is a lock , Green chosen by coaches but sits it out and Wiggins in as a replacement

Man, he is 12pts scorer with 80% assisted 2P and 95% - 3P. His impact on offensive end is minimal. Also on/off indicates that his the biggest impact is on offensive end, but its not true. These numbers has a lot of flaws. Wiggs has way bigger impact as second scorer and top defender.

It's a reputation thing and visibility thing. Draymond's defense is not as evident to casual viewers because the elite part is the team defense. Bridges is a very good man defender and the best defender on a top team. It's like Ben Simmons on Philly. Simmons isn't a great team defender but he's made the all nba defense team because of his very visible man defense. Wiggins defense is also very good but he is discounted by playing with Dray.

Your problem is that you view offense by looking at scoring and you're not willing to entertain the idea that people can be great offensive players with limited usage. It's not looking at basketball holistically. Mikal is an elite glue guy on offense – great off the ball, very good shooter, excellent cutter, great in transition, super efficient and keeps the ball moving. When you already have offensive engines on your team, such a player can have elite impact on offense and is worth consideration for all-star.

Mikal is one of the smartest team defenders in the league, though. He has been like that in college, too. He's a better team defender than man defender in most cases, so I'm not sure how you reach that conclusion in his case.

Rather just see Wiggins go, since he's never been.
Curry and Dray should rest up, maybe Curry get through the protocol to get it over with. I suppose though he's going to want to do the 3-point shooting contest at least.
But do defensive specialists make it or players with high scoring averages?

That's a weird take. Protocol isn't something everyone has to go through and get it over with. You go into protocol if you test positive for covid. Let's hope Curry never tests positive.

Re: How many All-Stars for Warriors this year?
Defensive specialist just means limited offensively.
Wiggins plays 2 ways. He is the 2nd offensive option on the team with the best record. He also defends the opponents’ best wings and guards.
Hard to see Bridges being selected over Wiggins if the coaches make the selection.
If Silver selects the replacement players, also hard to see a lesser team getting 3 ASs when the Warriors have beaten the Suns and Jazz.
Some fans still think Wiggins is still just a salary match for a trade, after the superb 2-way play he has done for giving us the best record, it’s so weird.
