Given this board's ongoing obsession with Australian high culture, I present to you a performance piece entitled "What's the deal with test cricket, anyway?"

I'm now Victorian, we're scared of other people. In any other year I'd have been there :(

Also, that dude got kicked out before he could even get in the game yesterday, talk about a police state.

Granted I play low level basketball with my old arse team but I had a good one tonight showing off in front of Tobes for my last game of the year. Got 28 in a 51-49 win.

Lefty, eh? 26 of those 28 came from a lack of scouting and in-game adjustments.

I spent the last week thinking Thursday was the 24th. Even took off today so I could have time to do last minute wrapping, cooking, and cleaning. Wasn't until about 2:00 pm today that I realized Christmas Eve was on Friday and I had another full day to prep. To say that I've been inefficient with my time since then would be an understatement.

The cocktail at 8:00 here looks tasty. Just gin infused with muddled cranberries and rosemary, add water and dry vermouth. There's some resting and freezing in there, but yum.

Ended up making this cocktail for gifts and had just enough left over for me to have one (then another). If you're not a rosemary fan, I would go lighter on it than you would think. Gonna tell the gift recipients to maybe dilute it with a dash of good cranberry juice. Goes down easy, though.

ETA: I didn't use the Botanist, I used Bombay Sapphire. If I had it to do over again I would have used Hendricks.

She would only give me one:

2 oz. Hendricks
1 oz. St. Germain
2 oz. Cranberry juice
1 oz. White soda

I strongly prefer this one with 1 oz. Cranberry and 1/2 oz. White soda, but I'm somewhat of a lush.

Sounds simple, but the Cranberry and St Germain go really well together.

Had a couple of these tonight, they were good. Thanks again for sharing!

Cocktail pet peeve. And one I didn't know (or, more likely, remember) was a thing.

Brandy old fashioneds are...fine. I'll drink one. But even sour they're too sweet. I just want a normal bourbon old fashioned. So I was out last night at a new-to-me restaurant, and had a couple nice cocktails. Everyone in my group seemed to like what they were getting. I decided to end the night with an old fashioned - bourbon, not brandy.

They made me a **** brandy old fashioned but with bourbon. Sour mix, muddled fruit - full 12oz of liquid. FOH with that, don't ruin my perfectly good bourbon and bitters. Can tell I'm definitely back in Wisconsin, though

Did they use Sprite? That’s a tell as well. Last time I had one there it was powdered sugar, sprite, maraschino cherries, bitters, bourbon, and an orange slice.

I stopped ordering old fashioned’s when I’m back in Sconnie. They are their own thing and too sweet for me. Unless it’s a hipster bar in the 3rd/5th ward. They typically know how to make them.

The Rumpus Room downtown makes old fashioned's the old fashioned way. I don't care for them. I believe they're temporarily closed though.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

My daughter is devastated with this news. I tried to find a bright side but there isn't any for that show.

Havent watched a ton but felt they became too famous and lost their ability to do a lot of public skits.
