Good news for one fan base - both teams can't lose.

I know we got hit with the Covid-curse, but Dame's play and body language stanks. I think this ship will continue to take on water, even after Nurkic and ROCO return. Copying what GS did by shutting Curry down for a year, and thus tanking, would not be the worst plan going forward; worked out pretty well for GS. I don't know why, but I'm concerned this franchise may instead act like a deer stuck in the headlights.

Trade Deadline fast approaching: FEB 10th. What's the current market value for older expensive small guards that can't play D? We would of course like to sweeten the deal with one of our older cheap small guard that can't play D. What does that package get us? Elleby is obviously nearly untouchable... we may need him to play the PF next year when ROCO walks.

The good news is that despite going 3-14 in the last 17 games, Portland is still somehow just 5 games back of the 5 seed! The bad news is that their net MOV over those 17 games is a gruesome -10.9. To put that in perspective, Portland’s worst ever SRS was -8.91. Of course, that took into account a full season of poor play, but any way you slice it, these past 17 games have to be up there with the worst stretches in franchise history.

And yet, somehow despite this evidence, I can’t write off the season as a lost one yet. There is a lot of variance around the league right now and I can’t discount the possibility of a turnaround. Hope we get to see that turnaround and the team doesn’t continue to twist in the wind.

Shut him down.

Move CJ and RoCo if the value is right and hit the ground running next year.

Knowing the Blazers typical MO i bet they keep trying until they are systematically eliminated from playoff contention.

Now we might see some more forward thinking moves before that point, but I would not be surprised to see Dame trotted out 60 games in even in a case where we have to win 18 or 20 out of the final 22 games of the season to get the coveted 8th seed.

While Lillard led teams typically dig themselves a hole this is one of the worst we have ever seen, the team is now losers in 14 out of their last 17 games.
