They are an interesting trade partner, and who I’ve been eyeing for awhile.
Hmmm?

Can you confirm this?

I mean I can’t confirm, nobody can lol. But all I’ll
say is don’t be surprised if you hear more and more of Jaylen/Hawks talk, especially if the team continues scuffling. Jaylen is a HUGE name in the area, he takes a lot of pride representing Atlanta, and the Hawks desperately needs a consolidation trade.

There are some Hawk fans that like the idea of the local kid, I wouldn't say HUGE name though as if they're clamoring for him.
However, I don't see the Hawks trading bigs (Collins and Okongwu) for a wing when Hawks already have a plethora of wings: Bogi, Huerter, Reddish and Hunter. It makes Atlanta a team with limited size behind Capela, won't work. Gallo is not a starter and the rookie Johnson is not ready for winning NBA minutes.

Yeah maybe HUGE was overstated, more that he’d be a huge star in the area if he was there.

Obviously the teams would have to agree to something, which is far from a given. But I’ve heard that it’s something to keep an eye on over the next year or so.

I’m not the highest on Jaylen so I don’t think he’s a great player, but he’s very good, and would be a big upgrade on all those wings.

Not to mention it would be a pretty good get for the hawks who historically haven’t attracted big names unless they were drafted or slightly past their prime like a Dwight

Never said they were, it’s more the Jaylen/Atlanta connection.

I doubt they’ll trade him to Atlanta, but there’s a fit there.

Ok, I get it. I was just trying to see our potential interest. Maybe in a 3 team trade?

How far over the tax are the Celtics and what would need to be done to get under?

I was virtually begging Danny through the screen to move up twp spots and snag Haliburton. He would have been a nice add to the Jays, but not so much as a replacement for Jaylen (the best player in the deal).

And I still wonder if the Celtics even tried to move in that draft. #14 + #26 (+ future 2nd?) for #12 might have gotten it done. Pritchard or Bane would have been there at #30. But no, we had to trade #30 away just to get rid of the French dude in red shoes.

C's should be interested in any move that would improve the team. I'm not sure if ATL is the best move, but it's intriguing. ATL gets a bonafide (OK, one time) all-star wing/local hero, Celtics get some quality front court help and can move Tatum to the smaller forward position. And I like Collins fit overall with this team, he could start with either Horford or Timelord with his skills. He's more of a hothead than Jaylen and Jayson too, which is something the team needs, imho.

Not sure how we'd get Okongwu too, but me likey. Collins can be traded after January 15. Let's see how the mood is down there. I haven't followed the Hawks this year, but there could be a trade that benefits both teams, which seems to be more of Brad's MO than was Danny's.

You're really helping Atlanta out and not getting a lot back in comparison to what you're giving up.

I think you're meaningfully underselling Dejounte Murray. All NBA defender whose passing has blossomed the last 18 months and is the same age as Brown.

Now, I am no fan of Reddish but Murray I would be very interested in if we really do decide to break up the Jays.

Brown holds a lot more value than Murray. Good player but wings hold more value. Reddish does nothing for me. Atlanta would need to get another team involved with a lot more to give up than just Reddish or Murray.

We are like Phx without CP3 right now. True contenders need that veteran leadership. We have Al but he’s a quiet guy and he’s all we got in that regard.

But why would Wall come here? Its not a FA destination. He's more likely to go to LAC than anywhere else.

It's not a trade I love, just an idea. Murray isn't the scorer or shooter Jaylen is, but he's averaging 17, 8 and 8, he's a tall, long point guard, good contract, young, and still trending up. It'd be an addition-by-alteration trade, changes up the offensive chemistry, and you make minutes on the wing for Romeo, Nesmith and Reddish.

I understand the reasoning. Again reasoning isn't terrible but Reddish and Romeo I feel are somewhat redundant meaning I really don't think much of the player overall. Basically both guys will probably be overseas 5 years from now.

I think Romeo's got a 50-60 percent chance at Terry Rozier's trajectory.. with minutes, if his new shot doesn't abandon him, he's a 12-15 ppg scorer now, Josh Richardson or Malik Beasley tier.. more reps and he could blossom into an 18-20 guy in the right setting.

Reddish is kind of a wild card. He's got great size and athleticism, which is meaningless except that a lot of players would kill to have that foundation. I'd want more value trading Jaylen, but it's hard to find permutations that work. ATL apparently wants a first-round pick for him, so you're basically getting Dejounte+1st for Brown, which is low. We're all underrating Jaylen, too, his potential to blow up as a scorer on a new team and his potential to grow as a playmaker.

I like Murray, too, but as a "with Jaylen" not a "instead of Jaylen". Seems a vertical move at best. Now if Okongwu AND Murray were coming back... well, Okongwu hasn't done much yet, but he's going to be a good player.

We need a couple of right place, right time trades to materialize this deadline to up the talent on the roster, otherwise we're treadmill.

Any of the wings on Atlanta is a downgrade to brown.

Smart for 1 or 2 of them then maybe if brown is bringing in a legit threat at the pg spot.

Ie: brown, schoeder and Juancho for fox, ramsay and a first
Smart and a second for Bogdanovic and johnson

Then I would be intrigued.

Fox/pritchard
Bogdanovic/romeo/ramsay
Tatum/nesmith/hauser
Grantw/parker/johnson
Timelord/kanter/bruno

Obviously, the question is why would we not trade Brown for the likes of Simmons, Beal or Lillard and instead we focus on a trade which doesn´t make us better (if we don´t include another team) and makes a conference rival stronger.

AS already Stated, Brown is the Biggest trade chip asset we have (we're not trading Tatum) so trading Brown better be a good one. With that said, there are some intriguing choices out there. The real question is do other teams see him in the same light as some on here.

At 25 Brown is no longer a young player still developing.. He is entering his Prime age. How much better will he get?? He is probably a player that thinks he should be a number 1 option and will always play with a me first attitude. He seems like he looks to shoot/score almost every time he gets it. Don't think having 2 players like that with Tatum will ever work out for winning team basketball. With that said I wish/hope Brown can get traded for another foundation piece that is more compatible for a winning style.

My heart says trade him by trade deadline, but my gut says the summer is when Stevens will take a more serious look.

what I do consider a Priority is trading Schroder by the deadline. PP has proven to be back to shooting well. (shame on the nonsense some spewed early this year when he started out bad that he couldn't shoot) He is such a good fit with his non ball dominating shooting and spacing game. If Ime/ fans on here can't see that that truly they are blind. Not to mention he is only just now starting to break out. He may get to another level of confidence with continued high usage.

As I write my stomach is turning at the thought Ime may put him behind Shro again and once again kill this kid's growing confidence. Damn a coach can not be that obtuse right?? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
