Cavs are collecting ex-Celtic centers: Tacko, Luke ...

Seriously, why didn't we sign Kornet ourselves -- timing?

The Maine coaches have done a good job. The offense was clicking and creating open looks and as such a lot of players got rewarded. Let’s hope they can repeat the performance after getting so many players paid.

I mean this team had 5 guys called up by other teams. That shows good growth and development of their players.

The Maine Celtics pick back up a week from today, Jan. 9, 2022.
Would love to see Hauser and B. Thomas get some floor time with the Boston Celtics, until then.

Seriously, why didn't we sign Kornet ourselves -- timing?

none of the guys we signed to hardship contracts has played a single minute of non-garbage time basketball for us. So it doesn't really matter..

but yeah, I think mostly timing. Brad prioritized signing guards/wings who are all established veterans who can put the ball in the basket to hardship contract (Joe Johnson, justin Jackson, CJ Miles). by the time all of our centers got COVID or injured, Kornet already was scooped up by cleveland so we picked up pelle and Aminu instead (neither of which has seen the floor for boston)
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I'm in Portsmouth, maybe I'll take the drive up to Portland to check them out this weekend.

Anyone know how many 3's he's hit?

He's low floor high ceiling right now, either he's a career minor leaguer who can't make the leap, a guy who can't play under control because the pro game is too quick for him to keep up cognitively, or someone who can even out with steady minutes and wind up somewhere between Josh Richardson and Terrence Ross. He hustles, defends, nose for the ball, mixes it up, can rebound, flashes a dribble drive, and in theory could be an elite shooter.

1-5, 7-12 overall. So he's 6-7 inside the arc, feasting on G league defense and still bricking threes.

Nesmith has gotten his open looks at the nba level, not sure what his issue is as he def a hard worker. Man though, Bane’s success right now is frusterating to say the least.

Finshed 7/9 from two. Nesmith had two layups (including an and one), a floater and four jumpers inside the arc. That's not really feasting on weak interior defense. 2-7 from three with some questionable shot selection from beyond the arc (most of those were not clean looks). Maine ran a lot of actions with Nesmith as the ball handler and after a rough start (like 3 turnovers in the first few minutes) he generally did an ok job of moving the ball.

Just needs to settle down at the NBA level, get his feet set and not rush his release and he'll be fine.

Nesmith must be really bad in practice. Regardless this team needs shooters badly in this dude so bad he's getting demoted to the developmental league. This probably doesn't bode well for his career

Or, the alternative, is that coach just wont let him catch a rhythm at all.

And instead choses to play Schroder 30+ minutes per game.
