Game 39: Miami @ Golden State, Jan 3, 2022, 10 PM, EST

Post#1 » by gom » Mon Jan 3, 2022 1:28 am

Your Miami Heat journey to San Francisco to take on the Golden State Warriors.

Miami: (23-14) 1st in the Southeast, 4th in the EC
Golden State: (28-7) 1st in the Pacific, 1st in the EC

MIami is 32-33 vs Golden State.

We are 13-20 against Golden State away and 19-13 at home. The 13-20 is a bit distorted, because we lost 14 of our first 15 games against them, only winning in California in 1996. The first 9 games played in their arena were losses. We needed (former Warrior and first Heatle to hang in the arena) Tim Hardaway to beat them. After that we were 13-11 against the Warriors in their home.

Draymond is clear to play. RIP gom

Yurts get a traditional big matchup with Kevon Looney, who's pretty strong down low but a low threat offensively. Gotta win this matchup heavily for us to have a chance. Guy and Highsmith gotta hit some 3s.

Maybe, but I'm guessing the team is not going to be happy with that finish against the Kings. Expect a difference.

If we can get Strus & Haslem back, I'm ok with Draymond Green coming back. He did have 10 assists against the Suns, but we are going to fight every possession.

Let's get the win.

Enjoy, HEATLanta!

I didn't actually post this because of the Flamengo fan in the foreground, but because this is Leblon, people. Looking towards the morro of Dois Irmãos. Go there as soon as you can.

By the way, Brazil (despite its inauspicious start) has a much lower covid rate than the United States now, and the population has a higher vaccination rate, despite starting months later. Order and progress.

Stranger things have happened but the odds are stacked against em.

I have no expectations for a win, personally, but I will root for my hometown team as usual.

They should very well be coming back tomorrow if no symptoms are present. Haslem will help even if it’s to coach up Silva or come in for a pinch like he was doing before. Strus will be a massive help as it gives us a reliable bench player or possibly moves Herro back to his customary 6th man role.

We usually play well against GS win or lose. Both teams play very good style of basketball in that we play hard nosed defense and play together offensively. Obviously they have the goat shooter but Jimmy can get to the FT line at will. It's a great measuring stick game but obviously we're a little shorthanded. You got this gom

I don’t expect GSW to blow out the Heat but it will definitely be a shocker if the Heat somehow wins the game.

Maybe, but I am OP for the mf win. I like our chances. We are the Miami Heat. We will fight for the win, and heaven help the team that dismisses us because we signed g-leaguer replacements.

ultimate house money game. we're pretty good at winning games we have no business winning (then lose to the Kings at home well rested)

all pressure is on them as supposedly the best team in the league

It's a great test for us and a chance to level up. We have to beat teams like Golden State or we are not a contender. Time to walk the walk we've been talking about culture and how we handle adversity.
