Wood’s career has been bumpy, I would look other options for PF/C cover:
2015-16
Houston Rockets (Summer League)
Philadelphia 76ers
Delaware 87ers
Waived by the 76ers
Acquired by the 87ers
76ers (10 day contract)
Waived by the 76ers after just 3 days
Reacquired by the 87ers
76ers (10 day contract)
76ers, signed for the rest of the season

2016-17
Charlotte Hornets
Greensboro Swarm

2017-18
Phoenix Suns (Summer League)
Dallas Mavericks (Summer League)
Fujian Sturgeons (China)
Waived by Fujian before playing a single game
Delaware 87ers

2018-19
Milwaukee Bucks
Waived by the Bucks
Claimed by the New Orleans Pelicans
Waived by the Pelicans

2019-20
Claimed by the Detroit Pistons

2020-
Houston Rockets

I worry that Grant can adjust back into being a 4th or (gasp) 5th option on offense. He was touted for his defense back in Denver & OKC, and hasn’t posted a positive DBPM or RAPTOR rating yet in Detroit. Granted the team is pretty lousy, but he’s been focusing a great deal of attention on offense too as he tries to prove he’s somehow a 1st or 2nd option.

Regardless of whether he’s failed in that effort, I worry about the habits & tendencies a player picks up with that kind of shift. It’s dangerous to assume that Grant can just quickly revert back to his old ways as a 3&D specialist. He intentionally made that decision to go to Detroit. This is a deliberate evolution of his game.

It’s very high risk, and I’m not as high on Grant as others so I’m a little wary of the reward.

AK has been very surprising in his approach so far, there’s clearly a plan in works, and Grant is too obvious of a deal. I don’t think this happens & I’d be surprised if anyone correctly guesses what AKME do next.

DJJ has been good for us and he’s clearly a good fit. I’m not throwing that away for a guy who sometimes has some moments on the Thunder.

This team shouldn’t trade rotation players just to do something.

exactly

I would still look to keep DJJ for backup PF spot.. PWill, this year is basically out! and look to somehow add a starter, Grant, Batum, Barnes, Covington and few other options via trades or buyouts maybe.

Can someone explain the enigma of Brandon Clarke?

PER: 23.1 (2nd behind Ja)
BPM: 2.9 (2nd behind Ja)
TS: 65%
Net Rating: 2.3

He is 11th on Memphis in minutes played! He is relegated to back of the bench.

He’s 6-8, is a rim runner energy guy and could be had for pretty cheap IMO. TBJ and a future 2nd may get it done. He fits as a starter nicely, and the Bulls lose very little by getting him. Maybe he’s too similar to DJJ? Is there an injury thing with him?

That Youtube channel has some of the craziest trade "rumors". I've told Youtube to stop recommending that channel.

I have a hard time taking a tweet with 4 Likes very seriously. Seems like 100% speculation, which all of us are doing just fine at from our desks and phones.

I'm not a fan of anything we can get with Pat or Pat + Coby, as of the moment. Wood, Grant, and Barnes don't excite me and I'd rather roll with the guys we have.

I do agree at some point we'll have to consolidate the talent for the playoffs but I think that comes from narrowing the playing times between the 8-9 deserving guys. I doubt we get anything significant in a trade.

AKME has earned enough juice for me to stick with Pat. They took initiative to make a move to draft him and I'm going to guess he's a big part of the long term plan.

So much for getting Bey on the cheap. Dude has stepped in for Grant and been a beast.

Wonder if it lowers Grants value at all.

Yeah I find that channel really grating with the clickbait video titles and hard patreon sell.

I believe the best route forward for this team is to play out the season as currently constructed. I’m not comfortable moving the few assets the Bulls have until the roster is playoff tested. Most of the roster will return next season.

I expect JaVonte Green and Troy Brown Jr. to return next season and for the Bulls to sign a veteran ring chaser (Thaddeus Young?). The unknown is DJJ. He is the one player I don’t see returning next season because the Bulls don’t own his bird rights. For that reason, he’s the one player I could see being moved.

Isaiah Roby is under contract next season at less than $2M. He’s a 6’8” PF w/ a 7’1” wingspan that has the foot speed to stay with some guards. If the Bulls really are looking to add some more ‘size’, Roby makes some sense. Plus, he was coached by Billy Donovan in OKC.

His shot regressed (15% from 3), he's pretty small for a big and Memphis has a lot of solid frontcourt players so it's hard to find minutes sometimes.

Do you know why Roby has only been getting 14 MPG on such a god awful OKC team? You'd think there would be more minutes for him if he was any good.

Could we get Torrey Craig for cheap? His numbers aren’t splashy but he’s a 6-7 tough defender that shot 37% from 3 last year. Makes $5m this year and next. Not sure what the Pacers would want.

It's a crowded front court in OKC, with veterans like Derrick Favors and Mike Muscala, and developing forwards like Bazley, Poku, & JRE. OKC looks more committed to Bazley and Poku in the long-term, which makes Isaiah Roby the odd man out.

DJJ is the better player, but Roby has the size the Bulls 'need' and is locked up for an additional year. It's a boring trade.
