If Chet can remain healthy (just have some doubts with his frame), he certainly could be too. If I were a Magic fan, I'd love to re-unite him and Suggs to continue to grow both on & off court chemistry, plus I think Franz is a very smart player that would play extremely well off of him and Isaac if he can ever remain healthy. Not sure who most of your fanbase has their eyes on but I think Chet would actually turn out to be a good fit and with everyone back next year I think you guys would make a substantial improvement from this one.
I think everyone is leaning towards Ivey 1a, Jabari 1b, and then Chet.

Ivey looks like Wade.

Actually surprised by that given the glut of guards (Fultz, Anthony, Harris & Suggs)...most of whom look to score first besides Suggs. Figured Chet would bring more ball movement, floor spacing and shot blocking. But I think Ivey is gonna be a stud and obviously it's usually all about having the best players.

Out of the current bottom teams, I actually think NOP makes the most sense for Ivey but I'll stop derailing this thread about next year's class lol

I think its more like Jabari 1, Chet 2a, Ivey 2b. I prefer Chet for the reasons you mentioned.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Yea hes looking like hes going to be an elite defender in the very near future. Now its going to depend on how much he can develop offensively. He has the tools, but hes on a team where "anyone except steph or klay shooting is a bad shot".

Kuminga has the talent to regret all teams which passed on him in draft

Kuminga is really raw...he can be a defensive specialist but will need more refinement on the offensive end

Franz looks like he's having an off game thus far.

Now that Raps have the full lineup, especially with Siakam and OG taking up Scottie' mid range space, he's getting a lot less touches now

Giddey just became the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple double.

17/13/14/4 with just two turnovers.

Franz struggled tonight as he had to take a backseat to TRoss.

Giddey just had 17 points, 13 rebounds, 14 assists, 4 steals, 2 TOs

Lamelo and Fultz both had triple-doubles at 19, but a few days older than Giddey.

Been a little out of the loop the last month. What's the ROY race looking like? I currently have money on Mobley + Barnes and will probably need to pick which one to ride to the end of the season sooner rather than later. I can cash out on either at this stage for double my investment.

Franz + Giddey look promising with Cade as another potential dark horse.

NBA Rookie ladder has Franz at the top - any weight to that?

I think he's a few months younger than LaMelo and many months younger than Fultz

Considering the month that Franz had? Yes.

I don't think it will stay that way though as the magic were missing a ton of players and Franz got to be the focal point of the offense (and did it VERY efficiently). Unfortunately, I don't see that to keeping up as guys like Cole and Ross are going to want their possessions/shots.

In short, I don't expect Franz to have the opportunity to win ROY due to his role.

Luka had one when he was 19 also.

I can’t think of a more harshly judged rookie in these threads in recent memory than Giddey.

Even when he posts an NBA record and a monster triple double, there still comments like “but xyz...”

Super weird considering his output, style of
play, upside and age.

He’s a young Jason Kidd.

Honestly I don't think that's true, simply because no one cares.

I dont think anyones judging Giddy harshly

Super talent, His passing is on another level to all the rookies on the list, His shot looks a bit trash however you have to respect it, Physically though he's a year away from being a year away. Which stops him from getting to his spots on the floor and has to rely on the flat footed 3p shot and the ugly floater

Reads the play better then a lot of people realise. As he's super young and raw, Really keen to see him in the gym and see if he can build some bulk, As his defense is decent but just doesnt have the strength to compete yet

Dont give any weight to NBA Rookie ladder. It is useless.
For the months of Oct and Nov, Barnes was ranked #1 in NBA Rookie ladder for 4 weeks out of 6 weeks but Mobley was given NBA Rookie of the month award for Oct and Nov.
