slower start, then gets going... scores 21 in the last 12 min. shows the good and the bad. I'd say mostly good. 37/14

of note:
1:40 block/ hustle
1:50 pass
5:25 pass
5:55 turnover/recover/block
6:08 crossover 3
8:00 steal

Here are his highlights from yesterday's game:

Just watched some tape on him... very fundamentally sound player.

Seems like a definite top 10 pick, maybe even top 5.

He's not overly explosive, but has good footwork and ballhandling. Looks like a mix of Devin Booker and Jimmy Butler to me.

Also worth noting that Jaden Ivey definitely looked taller than him... Davis may be 6'4'', if Ivey is 6'5'' as advertised, and with a much longer wingspan; Davis seems to have a negative wingspan, though I may be wrong.

Yeah at this point hes probably a lock for top 10 unless some of the other fringe lotto guys show some potential. Really good couple of years for prospects from WI.

Davis definitely doesn't have a negative wingspan.

I'd say there's no way Davis' wingspan is 6'10''.

If you check the video above, Jaden Ivey's wingspan is notably bigger than Davis'. So if Davis' is 6'10'', what is Ivey's? 7'0''? 7'1''?

I think Davis' wingspan is between 6'6'' to 6'8''.

Regardless, he projects as a very good player in the NBA, surely starter-level.

I was still on the fence about him but that performance against Purdue made me a lot more confident in him. I'm almost sold on him.

Anybody see a little of Gary Harris right in that period before he got paid where it looked like he was gonna make a leap on offense? The difficult shot making is impressive but he's still pretty streaky. Id love if he had just a little more in the speed and strength departments. I know he had the more impressive statline but Ivey just really passes the NBA athleticism benchmark in a way that Davis doesnt.

I'm curious to see measurements, he looked shorter than Ivey, definitely not as long, but he has like plus reaction speed and plus change of speed which makes him extremely tough to guard with his skill set and game. Going to definitely keep an eye on him. Very impressive.

Of course. But still it's not good for a player which doesn't project to have above average athleticism for the NBA level.

But please don't take my comments as negative on Davis; as I said above, IMO he's a definite top 10 pick, even a top 5 (I haven't looked much at other lottery guys, like Kendall Brown, Keegan Murray, etc).

Nevertheless, throughout NBA's history we've had players with a similar physical profile, and they did have good careers as well.

You're absolutely correct. They look very similar in terms of playstyle too, I'd say.

You know what, when I compared Davis to Booker and Butler, I thought about Gary Harris as well, but I discarded writing that at the moment because that seemed to be a low-end case for Davis.

doesnt really matter to me whether you like him or not, I'm just saying he doesn't have a negative w/s. even if it's on the low end of that projection it's not a negative w/s.

i think he'll come in at around a 6-7 or 6-8 w/s, which is perfectly fine for a combo guard.

So you basically reply with a strawman's fallacy in your 1st sentence, then says a similar thing I said in the 2 previous posts?

Would you care to act in a cordial manner towards people, instead of stop coming up with these passive-aggressive posts?

Come on Clyde, you're better than that.

Cheers, bunda mole.

Athleticism isn't everything. If it was, Darius Miles, Noah Vonleh and Gerald Green would have been better NBA players than Booker, Middleton and Jokic.

With that being said, I do have Ivey ranked ahead of Davis - just barely..

He feels kinda Brandon Roy-ish to me. I wonder if his playmaking chops develop a bit more on the next level with more talent around him.
