Re: Poll: Do you watch NBA games?
I still watch the games but the current game definitely needs more balance. I would kill to see low post play and cuts to the basket versus every trip down the floor being pop a shot behind the three point line.
In other words you can still have criticisms about a product and yet still love the product.

Re: Poll: Do you watch NBA games?
I'm at my NBA watching peak, west coast USA and have a good setup to turn on games for the EC at 4PM, I'm not normally doing anything until 7 so I can catch any EC game in full. Sometimes I just let it roll and keep the next match on if I'm not doing anything....
I like to watch other teams that aren't the Thunder, really study the game from other sides, so I prefer to catch the big games of the night if possible.

Re: Poll: Do you watch NBA games?
I watch only Timberwolves games. Only games I skipped and watched highlights instead is couple of recent games where all 5 starters were out due to Covid, and 8-9 total roster players.
I can handle losing, but I wasn't willing watching full games of G league rosters. God knows I tried tho.

it's a mix between occasional and never. so far this year i think i've watched like 1 game total if you add up all the little bits of games i've watched.

Ironic because the eFG% has been it’s highest in history the last 6 years.

I watch every Bucks game, usually at least one other game each day (live or recorded one of interest), and then highlights of most other games.
League pass obviously makes it easy now, rather than chasing streams like i used to do.

The OP references the RealGM peeps blaming 3-pointers for a mass loss of interest in the game. I’m also joke referring one of those RealGM dudes who said that in idiocy.
What other reasons for a loss in NBA fan interest would you mention?

Re: Poll: Do you watch NBA games?
Yes, when I have the time. It's kind of odd that people would decide to read/post here without watching. But I guess it's more common now.
I stick to mostly watching the Warriors. But will also catch an ESPN/TNT game when I get the chance.

realGM doesn’t watch the games. No wonder there are so many off base comments on players, like the posters haven’t watched those players play for years.
They actually haven’t watched!

Re: Poll: Do you watch NBA games?
Haven't watched a single game so far, but that'll probably change after football season and the All-Star game ends. I feel like that's when the teams actually try since the stakes are much higher. I'm pretty sure this is how it's going to be for me from now on.
I'm just not invested in the players as I used to be. Nothing wrong with the product although there needs to be minor tweaks.

Re: Poll: Do you watch NBA games?
Watch most Sixers games (maybe 60-65%) during the work week (Mon-Thurs nights), and then parts of other games here and there. Usually a quarter or two of an interesting player (Cade or Mobley or SGA or Jokic), or the 4th quarters of a close game between good teams if I happen to see one unfolding whole checking box scores. It's pretty strictly a post-work unwinding thing for me.
EDIT: honest question: why would anyone be on bball boards if you're not watching the game? Lotta other hobbies/pastimes out there.
DOUBLE EDIT: I honestly don't understand what people are talking about at all with complaints about how things have changed. We're watching mostly because we like competition and it makes zero sense to me to say that's less intense or enjoyable now than 20 or 10 years ago. I usually get where people are coming from but this doesn't track at all for me, don't get how you can like basketball and find yourself suddenly not liking it cuz there are too many 3s or whatever. Guys are trying really hard to beat the defense and it's still skill vs skill and feels like the same exact thing to me. I think a lot of folks have maybe just mellowed with time and these days get less irrationally riveted by cheering for your team game after game, makes sense you're way more into that in your teens-20s than in 30s and 40s.

So, by not watching them play, you've concluded that teams aren't trying. That makes sense.

Re: Poll: Do you watch NBA games?
Last year I watched every laker game and marquee matchups on other teams. This year I'm mostly highlights and box score, I only watch 1 game every couple of weeks. But it's not because the product, just because I"m busier.

Can get difficult with 4 kids to wrangle in the arvo after work, but I generally try to at least watch my teams games.

You can tell that a lot of posters here don’t watch games based on the posts. It’s sad that Reddit has passed RealGM in actual basketball discussion.

Re: Poll: Do you watch NBA games?
Where I'm at I get to watch every Sixers, nets,Knicks game along with Bulls games on Saturdays. As the ESPN schedule and TNT schedule, I get to watch games all the time. Sometimes I have the games on multiple devices, come the weekends, I'm watching on my laptops different games from teams around the league also. So yes I do watch the games. All the time.
I really don't see how anyone could talk about players and the league if you say you don't watch games. If that's the case you're truly just talking out your ass. I need to go down this list and block people. I'm not sitting here trying to listen to people who know nothing about facts or watch the product to be properly educated enough and just want to write **** and see them selves talk like a cheap low end tik tok or youtuber. You're not influencers when you know nothing about the product. Just **** talking clowns. This offends you, who cares. This sport and the people who actually enjoy it aren't for you.
