Simmons is living in Philly (his house in Jersey)

He’s not a distraction according to Seth Curry (Doc’s son in law) as he’s not around the team at all

His healthcare people are complying with everything that the Sixers ask of them

There’s rumours of fines but that’s all there’s been for quite some time

That’s literally it but carry on for another 84 pages

Perhaps its selective amnesia, but you've completely obviated 4 major issues that, in combination, are probably unresolvable given how public they have been:

1.

Embiid:

I’ll be honest. I thought the turning point was when we – I don’t know how to say it. But I thought the turning point was just, we had an open shot and we made one free throw and we missed the other and then they came down and scored and we didn’t get a good possession on the other end and Trae came back and he made a 3 and then, from there down four. And then I got – it’s on me. I turned the ball over, tried to make something happen from the perimeter. But I thought that was the turning point.

Embiid took responsibility for his late turnover (letting Gallinari poke the ball away then dunk on the ensuing fastbreak). But everyone is focusing on the Simmons part of that quote.

Mostly for good reason.

This fits a pattern of Embiid calling out Simmons’ scoring limitations.

https://nba.nbcsports.com/2021/06/21/joel-embiid-brings-up-ben-simmons-not-dunking-as-turning-point-in-game-7/

2.

As heartfelt as all of the comments may have seemed to everyone else, Simmons apparently isn't feeling it. According to The Athletic's Sam Amick, the messages by the team "fell flat," and Morey's specific example of comparing Simmons' situation to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was seen as "laughable and out of touch."

Well that certainly isn't what the Sixers want to hear, but even more, Amick reports that Simmons doesn't want to play with Embiid anymore:

"People who have intimate knowledge of how he sees this situation continue to insist that he's done playing with Embiid. There's nothing personal about this choice, it seems, but the 25-year-old Simmons has clearly decided that his career is better off without Embiid blocking the runways in the paint that he so badly needs to succeed.

As he sees it, sources say, the organization's choice to build its basketball ecosystem around Embiid's style simply isn't conducive to the way he needs to play. So while Embiid insisted to reporters on Monday that he wants Simmons back, this much is clear: The feeling is not mutual."

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/76ers-ben-simmons-no-longer-wants-to-play-alongside-joel-embiid-due-to-big-mans-playing-style-per-report/

3.

While Embiid noted that he still thinks the Sixers are better off with the Defensive Player of the Year runner-up on the court, he also pushed back against the idea that Simmons' unhappiness with his role in Philadelphia is somehow his fault. Embiid said that he has altered his own game to better fit alongside Simmons, and added that he feels like Philadelphia's rosters have consistently been built around Simmons, who prefers to operate with the ball in his hands due to his inability to space the floor with a shot. Both of those things are objectively true.

"It was kind of surprising to see," Embiid said of the report. "We'll say that, even going back to, the reason we signed Al [Horford]. We got rid of Jimmy [Butler], which I still think was a mistake, just to make sure he needed the ball in his hands, and that's the decision they made. Like I said, it is surprising...

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/joel-embiid-calls-ben-simmons-situation-borderline-disrespectful-says-76ers-are-built-around-simmons/

4.
Is Simmons’ effort level putting the desired pressure on Sixers GM Daryl Morey to trade him? Doesn’t sound like it.

“People should buckle in, this is going to go a long time because our only task, my only job is to help us get the best chance to win the title,” Morey said on the Mike Missanelli Show on 97.5 The Fanatic.

Morey made the point continually that Simmons is a “difference maker” as a player and that all the trade offers that have come in for him so far involve Philly getting “role players,” and that’s not good enough. He wants players who help the 76ers contend.

“Ben Simmons is a difference maker,” Morey said. “Right now, I know there are people who are down on Ben Simmons, and there are good reasons for that from multiple perspectives both on the floor and off, but the reality is this guy is a multi-time All-Star… who is one of the most impactful defensive players in the league.

“This is a very good player, and to give ourselves the best chance to win the title, you need difference makers, you don’t need role players.”

And????

Not a single quote from Simmons since June

Sixers players have barely mentioned him in months

Doc denies all knowledge of situation

His gf/fiancée is a big star in the UK & courts publicity but doesn’t speak of him

People love talking about him for some reason but there’s virtually no verifiable information out there other than a couple of videos of him walking down the street in Philly

Keep speculating by all means

All I am saying is that when GMs and star players speak to the press about a delicate situation with another player, that usually signals the end of that professional relationship. Simmons' actions over the summer speak louder than almost any words ever could. It doesn't take a genius to know he is holding out, regardless of how they want to label said hold out. If he were suspended without pay, I am sure his mental health would be suffering a lot more from the missing millions than whatever issues he may currently be having.

At any rate, speculation is part of what makes sports fun and meaningful to people. It's precisely why these boards exist, so you can be sure there will 84 more pages on this topic and others.

Relationship was over after Hawks series & probably well before

I have no problem with the Sixers waiting on a deal for Simmons but they should have fired Doc & traded Tobias in off season

Brand should have gone a year ago or more

Killing the team? They are in the sixth spot moving up to the fifth. If Embiid didn’t get sick they would be in the 1-4 spots.

The team probably even became motivated to show they are more important than the crybaby. Also other guys on the team are loving the minutes.

Looks like you are happy with being middle of the pack team with 1st/2nd round exit and wasting another year of Prime Embiid. Good Luck.
How adding any of the players mentioned would change that?

That doesn't mean he is cooperating fully and there has been absolutely zero reporting that they have resumed paying him, which they stopped doing because he wasn't cooperating.

In fact, here's a link for you:

https://www.spotrac.com/nba/philadelphia-76ers/ben-simmons-20206/fines/

Spoiler alert, here's what it says for literally every game including two days ago:

"for missing [] game due to not cooperating with team doctors and not participating in basketball-related operations"

So what's the next made up thing going to be Tomjas?

You can't be serious. The projection is just off the charts. First you blatantly lie and then when called on it becomes "not my money so I don't care." Of course, whether you care was obviously not the point. It's that you completely made up the idea that Simmons was cooperating.

Then you ask why I care so much about Simmons? My friend, you have spent the last 6 months gaslighting everybody because of your obsession with Simmons so I'm not even going to respond to it.

The point for everyone else is that as now demonstrated, Tomjas just makes things up left and right and should never be taken at face value.

I don't even see a problem, the dude needs some mental space, he's taking unpaid leave. Missing games and forfeiting the corresponding money per game. I'm sure they will sort it out but the media really dramatizes this as if there's a ticking clock and it's getting worse everyday.

Is there a point you're trying to make? Like tell me what you want to convey and maybe I can help you. Because I'm struggling why Rui Hachimura not being talked about is evidence that I'm obsessed with Simmons especially given that I barely post in this or any thread about him whereas you knock out 50+ Simmons fan boy posts a day.

As for my impartiality - I feel like this thread is a great example of it where I'm highlighting that I'm partial to truth and facts and not made up things. But if you want to call me biased towards reality, guilty as charged.
