The tail of the SEGABABA has us looking for some juice and with our leader back, hopefully we find it. We'll need to bring a lot more for a lot longer - like the whole game - tonight as we seek to turn our fortunes around. It's in our hands, fewer though they may be. For those who can play, a much more energized, defensive-minded, team-oriented play is the way forward.

I think it's a big mistake us playing up the last time we played Boston at home when Murray went off. I'm sure the Celtics remember that and with him just coming off covid and probably not being in the best of shape isn't going to bode well IMO.

Classic Pop! Less than a minute into the game, calls a timeout  **** GOAT. GOOD! Let's not put up with the crap we tolerated last game. We need to shore things up pronto.

Jakob doesn't have that touch at the rim so far tonight. It better change or he better get better inside positioning for dunks.

Tre and Keldon just don't have good chemistry. It's like they have no idea where each is supposed to go or do.

Also we are having big trouble stopping J&J - they're bigger and stronger and we're getting called for fouls and giving up 3s again. ROTATE, get the foul earlier if you must foul.

1ST Q: SPURS 30

CELTICS 30

Considering it's another new starting group, and we've missed some bunnies, and once again haven't gotten to the FT line, a tie and 30 points is pretty good.

Everyone not named Jakob is scoring well. Good pace, good rebounding, good movement, very solid scoring distribution between starters and bench.

Loving how Devin is growing before our eyes - stepping up to deflect balls from passing lanes, running out to open spaces and make 3s, confident drive for that huge dunk.

Amazing what a difference DJ makes in galvanizing our lineup.

We have to get the right angles and release timing on our drives and finish higher off the glass.

Tre is just unreliable in scoring. I don't trust him with the ball in his hands in terms of his ability to consistently make a shot and that's a problem considering how much more time we're giving him. Like I actually trust Lonnie more and that's saying something given his own consistency issues.

HATE THIS LINE UP: Tre, Derrick, Bryn, Keldon, Jakob.

Keldon has lost his confidence and is second guessing himself. Who waits for a defender to come to him when he's open at the 3 to take a contested 2?!

2ND Q: SPURS 58

CELTICS 56

Very close game in just about all aspects and it's reflected in the score - it's not always the case.

DJ's a HUGE difference maker. We need that core player around whom we organize ourselves well. And he adjusted at the rim to finish high off the glass just that touch sooner to make the basket. Love that play from him.

Keldon is at least showing some signs of life even if he doesn't look quite coordinated that confidence brings.

Derrick *sigh* the uncoordinated version is back. 3-8 but 2-3 from 3 so at least the variety of shots is working for him and us.

Tre - like I said, don't trust him. I'd rather see what Primo brings at this point.

Jakob has yet to score. He did a lot of work yesterday, so perhaps fatigue is a factor, because he's not really boxing out down low, not looking to finish hard at the rim, and taking almost fadeaway pop-a-shots for missed bunnies. More assertiveness from him, please.

Keita is doing well in that clean up role getting a couple of sneaky O boards with good timing and athleticism for putbacks.

DJ and Devin are cooking. Great to see the team look cohesive around DJ, good to see him looking like himself, and wonderful to see Devin now making those end of Q clutch shots. How about that DUNK?!

We need to make sure we rotate better to contest their 3s, make sure we box out better, and make sure we recognize switches and not get caught in them.

Still a seesaw type of game, but I think Pop called a timeout there because each time we go on a run and get a lead we give up a 3. Rotate HARD out to contest them!

Jakob just got bodied out of the way by Horford on an O board and he kind of stumbled forward, then reached in and fouled on the other end.

Just wish he'd have gotten stronger over the years. It's possible to do that without losing mobility.

3RD Q: SPURS 80

CELTICS 77

Solid output on both ends, and credit to Bryn for that end of Q hard close out that forced them to spin which was just enough time for them to not get the shot off in time.

Like our passing and figuring out how to keep scoring. Still need to watch our rotations to contest their 3s, still need to get to the FT line better.
