Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Boogie to be waived
We traded Craig and Augustin March 18 last season. Yes the season started later last season. There are more moves upcoming. As has been stated Semi and Hood can be traded. Boogie could not. As I said earlier, I'll wait and see what our playoff roster looks like.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Don’t get it, but maybe there’s something else they have planned

Horst and his roster management helped bring us a chip. I'll trust him.

or he asked to leave.
This. He is sure that he can get better contract now and we probably promised him at the beggining that we will let him go and sign better deal if he looks good.
That only make sense.
No one just watched him limp up and down the floor and said, "we weren't even interested before, but after watching him against the Magic, let's give him a raise"
His agent was aware of his impending release, and his next team would have already been announced if there was one.
If he was someone teams wanted, he'd be claimed on waivers, but he won't be.

When did we "do Tucker dirty"? If anything, we helped him secure a multi-year guaranteed deal in Miami which is an attractive destination for most free agents.
Am I the only one who thinks we are overreacting? Boogie was nice, but at the end of the day he wouldn't have been part of the rotation come playoff time. It's not like he was a game changer. At this stage in his career, he's just a journeyman.
I'm gonna repost the trade idea we all know by now: Donte + filler for Bamba. I hope we make it happen. Bamba would be a perfect fit next to Giannis!
And even if they don't make a trade like that, the Bucks probably feel like there will be buyout candidates that will be better than Cousins.
Bucks never did Tucker dirty. They helped revive his career.

From this, It has me thinking dude was dumped because of the owners being cheap. Seemed like a solid pick up.

I know but it's just a 10 day.
Edit: I feel like we could very well just string a few 10 days together till the trade season picks up. 20 days Kornet, 20 days the Moose, etc.

He's gotta go through waivers though. He could just get claimed on the same salary. Any team in the league could claim him, with the worst having priority.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Boogie to be waived
There's gotta be tons of teams falling over each other trying to get Semi Ojeleye, Rodney Hood and the Bucks 2030 second round pick to have some really important deal lined up like some people here are projecting. We have legitimately no assets outside of Donte/Grayson/Nwora, and Nwora's deal is too small to combine with the Junk Bros to get a meaningfully impact player, and trading Donte or Grayson leaves a hole that we don't really have a solution for, even if it plugs a different hole - even moreso complicated by Donte's salary combining with the Junk Bros to let us bring in about a $9 million guy.
Boogie had his warts, some of them large, but unlike three(!) other pieces of roster flotsam, could score well enough to offset some of his defensive deficiencies. Between the injuries and COVID, we're down to about 4 NBA-quality players who can play major minutes on this roster for the next two weeks. Add in that Khris seems to be struggling with something and this seemed like a time to not give up guys who are playing major minutes for you because of what might be possible in a month. As with everything, MTC and we'll see, but this does not seem like the right decision at this point. BTW, this decision highlights how abysmal Horst's FA signings were this past offseason, as Semi, Hood and Thanasis are all horrible.

There's got to be some sort of plan going on behind the scenes.. in Horst we trust!

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Boogie to be waived
Yep, after more consideration, I think we did this as a solid for him to try and land either a bigger deal or something more permanent. I also suspect he will be brought back if that larger deal isn't out there and he tries to build up his value more throughout the rest of the season.
I can see why we are thinking we did something dumb here, but seems much more logical this was part of the agreement with him from the beginning.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Boogie to be waived
Horst's comments about Cousins potentially coming back seem odd if the issue is that we think his defense makes him unplayable and / or that his attitude is problematic:

"We wouldn't have been able to get through this difficult stretch of the season as successfully as we did without DeMarcus," Horst told ESPN on Wednesday night. "At the end of the day, we made a strategic decision to have an open roster spot, but there's nothing that would prevent us from partnering with DeMarcus again down the road. He was so good for us, and hopefully we helped him, too."

This was true for me for the first week or so. After that, eh. Just kind of made me sad what the injuries have done to him.
I understand the move even if it's one I wouldn't have made. He was good insurance. I'm hoping there's mtc.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Boogie to be waived
Ideally we are getting good news on BroLo soon and the Bucks are doing Boogie a solid by letting him go to a team where he could be more than a 3rd string 5.
Possible there is a minor move like a RoLo trade or an Ersan signing or the like coming too.
Or maybe something more substantial like the PJ Tucker trade last year using Semi / Hood flotsam deals with Nwora or a 2nd or something along those lines.
Most likely though the available evidence makes this seem like a cold hard financial transaction. Picking up anyone has become much harder since the league has become ravaged by covid, which is part of where the Bucks getting to Cousins first before the rush seemed promising.
Now it's certainly plausible Horst can make a good follow up move! However I'd be cautious about falling for PR covering up for yet another financial decision from ownership.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Boogie to be waived
boogie is like the worst defender for his position in the league. i dont understand what the confusion is.
he cant switch
he gets blown by easily
he fouls like a mfer
he doesnt defend the rim
i could care less about losing his inefficient high usage offense. i want a defender in that role.
his pouting and horrible body langauage with the refs was only going to get worse as his tenure went on and i cant even imagine combining his horrendous defense with zero self control in a playoff game. hes literally the last thing this team needs at that position moving forward as a risk reward bench contributor
i will agree it was fun to root him on in some random mid season games. he was a treat in his postgame interviews

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Boogie to be waived
The only reason I can think for cutting Boogie (other than the owners being cheap) is to entice a buyout or trade candidate (a la Tucker) to join the team. What I mean is that with Lopez out for the foreseeable future and now Boogie gone, even a slightly above average center can get a lot of minutes on the current league champion squad.
