Got a ways to go, but feeling really good about it.

I love Cities, but never got the DLC. My biggest city (which honestly wasn't that great) got to the point where the traffic was so bad and congested that nothing would work. I added buses, subway, underground roads, literally every possibility. Eventually gave up and haven't ever gotten a city close to that size. I need to revisit that game. One of my favorites.

It's so greatly improved with the DLCs. Mass Transit might as well be required - it greatly revamps traffic not just by adding other transit options, but by giving you better tools to manage it all. If you really do want to revisit, I'd recommend picking that one up. $6.50 right now.

Granted I've spend quite a bit of time on traffic management, as I said, but I've got a city at 23k cims right now and I'm hovering between 89-91% traffic flow.

With everyone in the office on vacation/holiday mode the last two weeks, I think I've spent at least a dozen hours watching SoulsBorne speed runs and each time it makes me want to play a different game. In the middle of a DS game but now I want to play Bloodborne again.

The legit best time I have now with a SoulsBorne game is DS1 item and enemy randomizer. It's basically a treasure hunt for all 4 Lordsouls and the Lordvessel while possibly getting a Manus and Artorias instead of Ornstein and Smough. You can dial in bosses replacing basic enemies percentages too if you don't want it to get too insane. Like no one needs Gwyn to replace all the regenerating mosquitoes in Blighttown. They also have a faster mode where the necessary items are not hidden too far off the main quest.

In case you haven't played them (or want to have them for your PC), Epic has for free Tomb Raider Trilogy in GOTY/Definitive Editions starting today.

Thanks for the heads-up. I always forget about Epic's store because it's such a POS (I has hoped it wouldn't be), but I've gotten some good free games there and I always forget to check there when I'm looking for something to play. I really need to remember to - Into the Breach, Tyranny, the Shadowfall series. Things worth playing.

Valheim won PCGamer's Game of the Year. Pretty impressive for such a small studio and a game that's still in early development.

Their list is so whack I am not even bothering. Baldur's Gate 2 was their #3 RPG of all time like 2 years ago and it's not even on their Top 100 list. Null and void.

Xcom2 over persona 5 is a choice i guess. I've played 300+ hours of xcom2 btw. Persona 4 imo is just as good if not better than 5 too

My wife got me the XboX Series X mini fridge for my office. Not going to lie, it's pretty awesome. It only holds like 10 cans but it's fun to look at.

Wait, did I completely miss Grim Dawn ported to XBOX on Dec 3rd? Has anyone mentioned it? If you haven't played it, go get it. One of my all-time favorites.

I think in general traditional RPGs are grossly underrepresented on their list, which is kind of funny considering how prevalent 'RPG elements' have become in just about every other genre of gaming.

Certainly my favorite ARPG story, at least once Blizzard butchered Diablo's in D3. Kind of curious to know how well (or not) the vanilla game stacks up, though. I haven't played it un-modded in such a long time.

Thanks for the head's up. No, I hadn't seen that mentioned anywhere.

I agree, and then I think of how there isn't even one sports game on the list.

From what I (quickly) gathered is that when it was released on Dec 3rd, it had some issues. It had a 9gb patch 2 weeks after release that fixed a ton of things, including bumping the fps from 30 to 60 and the resolution can be changed to 1080p. There are plans to increase that to 1440 and 4k, eventually. Overall it gets some pretty great scores.

I feel like I should’ve grabbed the base game for $5 during the winter Steam sale. Pretty sure it was an all-time low price and I love ARPGs.

I think I discovered why it wasn't getting a lot of traction online for being available on consoles: it's $60 for a game that came out six years ago.

Well I'm getting to the end of PowerWash Simulator. I can't wait to see where the developers take the game. :D

Started Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on Switch. I'm enjoying it but man it's harder than I expected.

All of this got me to fire up Grim Dawn vanilla for a run through. It's been several years I believe since I last played the base game, though I had been playing the Reign of Terror (D2) mod before D2R was released. Somewhere along the way, I must have gotten my characters and saves mixed up, because my stash was severely reset/gone. So I'm starting fresh I guess :) Never played an Oathbreaker, so started one and leveling with some shield-slinging goodness.
