What about him? Not sure I've seen his name in rumors. Are you suggesting him for PF or as a backup C?

Power forward. Somebody suggested him on a different message board that i am on.
Some bulls fans think a defensive 4 is what they need. Missed out on Biyombo and Bell seems to not be working out. So maybe Bamba?

I think putting Mo Bamba at the 4 would be a complete disaster. He's a center. I also don't know how the Bulls would acquire him.

Matt Thomas and Alfonzo McKinnie become fully guaranteed at 4pm today, so something might happen in the next 3 hours.

JABARI BACK

Honestly I wouldn’t be mad at bringing him back. Don’t think he fits our rotation, but he can score and has size. Think he’d be valuable to us if we made a run and had injury’s.

I am honestly fine losing both of them...and I like what McKinnie did one game with us (out of four). Not sure if he is a needle mover or enough at PF. Would rather have the roster spots.

I think McKinnie gets guaranteed because, with Javonte and Cook out for several weeks, we are extremely thin at PF. McKinnie can play PF in our system, and will get minutes behind DJJ. God forbid DJJ gets hurt - McKinnie may be starting games for us.

i think we could use a salary filler contract more than we could use an open roster spot right now. if we wanna get something done and we're reticent to include coby/pat/djj, then tbj is the only tradable contract we have above $5m. not like we can't eat thomas's minimum salary to add a buyout guy later if we need to

I think the challenge is they are up against the tax line, so not needing to buy a guy out may make a difference.

they guaranteed thomas's contract so i could keep hope alive that we'd go into the luxury tax, keep coby/djj, and trade pat+tbj+bradley+thomas+marko for barnes

I would absolutely love this, lol. I tried in on NBA Trade Machine and it didn't work though. It was really close to working.

it's because it doesn't count thomas's salary toward the deal (presumably because of the non-guarantee). if you plug in javonte's identical salary it works

I'm sure Sacto would do this in a rebuild, but I think they are the leading contenders for Simmons and Barnes goes in that deal to Philly. From my perspective, I don't think Barnes is enough of an upgrade over what we have now (ie enough defense to slow Giannis) to trade Pat. He's on a decent declining deal though.

I'm still hung up on getting Covington plus another good player from Por for their 1st back.

yeah i'm thinking more and more that barnes is probably a pipe dream and sacramento's front office is gonna make a demented push for the play-in. but i will live my delusion until it is cruelly shattered a month from now

I really hope to give McKinnie some real rotation minutes while Green is out. I think he offers the best starting option among our current roster. Neither Green nor DJJ (who I'd be fine with as our go-forward starter too) has a 3 ball.

Is Bell still on the roster?

Welp.

1. I'm not saying I believe in it, or do it. I've not watched him enough over the course of his career to have a strong opinion.

2. I don't think our ownership would pay for it.

3. I don't think the other team would do it.

4. Maybe I'm looking more for entertainment? (I am curious to see what basketball junkies here think about it though)

5. This is still an internet message board, so who cares. What the heck, let's put it out there anyway cause I haven't seen the name at all here...

and I can't check on trade checkers due to a date restriction, but that'll be up by the deadline. At least if I select other players on his team with aggregate salaries equal to his individual number value - it works:

Bulls in:
- Julius Randle

Knicks in:
- Patrick Williams
- Coby White
- Troy Brown Jr.
- 1st round pick(s) w/light protection (a la Vuc trade)
