Twitter was an amazing feed of complaints today. Have a hard time believing that this market can support those type of price increases.
The Bucks obviously feel if they send one fan out, they can replace with another at the higher price. Justin posted that he had a pair of center court section seats that went from $19k to $29k. I can’t fathom those numbers. Both the current and the new price.

I assume the Bucks have some data behind this and the old process wasn't sustainable from a business process side ("oh you want cheap tickets and a $500 concession gift card to renew? Here you go!"). In my business i know we have gone through major repricing and having to reset customer expectations. They bitch but always come back..... But.....
I just dont see it here with the Bucks. The demand is at an all-time high (or at least should be) and it is easy to buy off the secondary market. I'm going to games that I don't want to not because I'm not making a profit but rather the market is so low TM wont let me list my tickets low enough to sell. There is a $25 floor on resell on my lower bowl tickets and I can't even even get that. And I can see the market getting way worse next year if we lose early or god forbid Giannis gets a big injury. You have a very expensive electronic paper weight at that point.
Maybe it is they can make so much on marquee games as single tickets, it is worth giving up on STHs? If that is the case, I will gladly take the cheap promotions next year to watch the Cavs on a Tuesday night or Thunder with their young talent.

The reason I dropped my season tickets a couple years ago is the price went up 50% and now they're doing it again while there's still apparently low demand? Seems really stupid.

I'm not sure demand was low. No inside information but seemed like limited availability when i tried moving seats in July. Probably sold more as the season approached. Total guess but would think they have 70%+ STH base. I think they are misjudging the demand elasticity from ticket holders.
So STH demand was high last year but random weeknight games are worthless. Maybe it makes sense for them to have more single tickets available where the Lakers, Nets, Warriors, Suns on weekends go for $150+ versus having STH pay $50 for all games. Run promotions on the remaining games or give them to charity.

ETA: it might make sense for them, but from a STH standpoint you have to factor in 20% resell on games you can't go, lack of flexibility to fit your schedule and just general cost (parking, food, drinks, etc) of going to 30 games versus just going to five random ones. Need a huge discount to make a 41 game package worth prepaying 10 months before the first regular season game. Right now, their pricing is barely giving a discount.

The Bucks were unique in that many of the season ticket holders were actual fans, versus corporations. When the new owners took over, I recall Feigin citing some percentages, and noting they had to shift that, and get more corporate support.
The assumption has to be that businesses are now ponying up for seats at higher prices and crowding out the average fan.

I'm more nervous about what their playoff pricing is going to be. As well as a potentially soft 1st round market.

I think this was my biggest peeve was always their timing. They can figure out pricing and expect you to decide on 2022-23 tickets before they finalized 2022 Playoff pricing. That is by far the biggest perk but if they come and 2x playoff ticket prices than what is the point.
Thought they were more than fair (or even generous) last year for the playoff strips, but pricing was skewed towards the first 2 rounds to guarantee them money. If the Bucks would've lost to the Nets in round 2, I'm not entirely sure I would've saved any money. The 'money maker' was the once in a lifetime finals run.

Absolutely. Businesses can absorb higher prices. And write off much of the cost. There's no way Gruber is cutting a check from his personal account for his courtside seats. Sure he could afford to, but he isn't.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Guessing it's like Aussie sports corporate seating. Buy a bunch of season tickets and it's all business costs in "client entertainment"

Anybody else hear that if you don't renew that you don't get playoff priority for THIS year's playoffs? Seeing that on a Facebook ticket page.

If true that's b.s.

Its the Brewers, Badgers, Bucks, Packers Ticket Exchange page. Someone asked if they don't renew for 22-23 do they get 2022 playoff tickets yet. First few answers, including me, were yes. However the Admin of the page said he reached out to his rep. Here was his post:
"Talked to my rep and he confirmed that you DO NOT get playoff priority for strips unless you renew for 2022-23. You do still get pre-sale access for each round, but you don’t get playoff strips."

Re: FISERV Forum Thread
Imagine noping out after your tickets went from $19k to $29k, and not given access to playoff strips for THAT postseason.... This front office is truly awful. Unrecognizable from how they used to treat their loyal fans.
I'm so glad our group got out when they raised our prices ~50% after the 2020 season. We've had no trouble getting good deals on regular season games. We saved a bunch of money on almost all of the postseason games we wanted to attend by monitoring the resellers online--there are always people wanting to sell for face or less. We overpaid a bit on Finals game 6 (which we bought directly from the Bucks the night the team defeated the Hawks) but came out way ahead overall.
If the Bucks aren't even willing to ensure a full playoff strip in your current seats for that season, that's the final nail in the coffin. That was the lone remaining benefit of being a season ticketholder.

I can't disagree with any of this. I really want to stay onboard, but logically breaking it all down there isn't much benefit for my situation. I can get cheaper tickets on the secondary market for 90% of the games, the loyalty plan is just okay, and we'll see what happens with playoff pricing. Is it worth paying out the ass for all games or just overpaying on secondary market for a few games that you want to go to. I just have a bad feeling the market is going to be soft for the 1st round and 2nd round may be matchup dependent. I'm just at a point in life where I don't want to be hustling to break even on tickets on events I can't or don't want to go to.
The not guaranteeing playoffs for this year is weird and almost seems like a breech of the contract you signed up for though. I don't know how they can advertise playoff priority, and then take it away if don't renew.

Someone else replied that they spoke to their rep and said they would get playoff tickets this year. Who the hell knows... I'm not sure what I'll do. Almost thinking if a bunch of season ticket holders drop out that there may not be as many tickets being sold on the secondary sites which is watering down the market a bit too. I'm not looking to get rich off of this, but I do need somewhat of a re-sell market.

Re: FISERV Forum Thread
I'd imagine that LED ownership team keeps Bucks as long as Giannis is in a Bucks uni, once he's done, leaves, retires, valuation of Bucks franchise takes a huge hit.
They likely don't care about long term impact to season ticket holders as long as short term stays robust
That said, it is a totally classless move to crap on the fans that kept this team afloat during decades of mediocrity
But, that's right on brand for them
