Feels like a toss up between KD and Giannis… will be interesting to see who gets the better of who tonight

Latest NBA.com MVP ladder has Joel Embiid in 4th. Making a massive jump from 9th position.

He's coming for the trophy.

As I said, we need a new poll at this point. Steph has dropped out of the top 4.

He's not the runaway leader like he was earlier in the year, which is due more to the recent losses than his shooting, but he's still at the top of the conversation.

In other words he's basically being compared to himself and found wanting. 2017 and his "down year" talk all over again.

He's got a shot if he plays enough, especially if a trade for help is made.

Just wanted to chime in that and say it's ridiculous that Steph Curry is being talked about as an MVP front-runner right now, i'm seeing posts arguing for him as the number one less than 3 days ago.

His being pretty bad for the last month and a half. Lucky to be even considered top 5 right now in the mvp standings.

I know for sure that if any of the other current top candidates had 2-3 bad games in a row they will fall out of contention (Giannis, KD, Jokic). That's how close the race is atm. Not sure why Curry is given such a long leash.

Because he's lead his team to the 2nd best record in the league all the while missing a future HOFer and a top 2 pick. Winning is the entire point of the game, and his supporting cast is made up of a bunch of former G-Leaguers and cast offs. I don't know how many times that we have to explain to you guys that traditional stats don't capture the impact he brings to his team.
