Is Scottie better today than he was in summer league? If your answer is Yes then Go to Bed. If your answer is No….. Then go to bed!

You didn’t answer the question. Maybe because you realized how silly you sound.

Quiet night for Scottie and he still put up 11p-9r-6a-1st-1bl . Made a bunch of smart reads/terrific passes.

Solid game for the future superstar.

I think it was visible tonight what happens if you try to force the game through Barnes too much at this stage.

i think he's been playing very well. Within the flow of the offense, making great passes.

I'm not a specialist and I believe in the team have good medical staff
but I was wondering why let Scottie play such heavy minutes even he seems still affect by his knee problem
consider he's not even play heavy minutes in college,
and he is already one of the longest distant running on the court player in his 1st professional season right now

It can change but mostly it will Barnes who will be sacrificed as a rookie because 4 scorers are on the court and can put up points, it does make sense for the team. What everyone expects during the game is one thing and I'm not doubting that he will pass up good scoring chances to pass. There is a reason Nurse said Barnes needs to take xyz many shots because that's his problem. This new role enhances him to be more passive. Looking to and forcing passes when he should not. To change his mindset with a full lineup is going to be extremely challenging.

You do know that he came off the bench at Florida St and averaged 10.3 ppg on 8 shots per game.

College basketball is a bit different though. Even when you are coming in as an elite freshman you are usually surrounded by much lesser talented players and see the need to do it yourself. That was the case for him. The next 2 best players were 2 late 2nd rounders. When I'm Barnes as a pass first player, have 4 scorers/shooters next to, am a rookie and I'm told I'm supposed to play the Marc Gasol role, I'm naturally looking to defer. Probably more than I should. And maybe it's just talk by Nurse but if not it's difficult to change that mindset in this situation. 10 PPG on 8 shots seems pretty realistic to me though with a full lineup. He took 9,7 and 6 shots the last 3 games so that seems realistic. As long as those 8 shots are good I don't really mind it personally when the offense is humming. It becomes a problem to me when he is camping at the 3 point line. If he completely loses his aggression and doesn't drive to the basket at all anymore, then it becomes a problem.

He took 14 tonight! Nurse has him come out early so when FVV comes out Barnes is in as the backup PG.

What's great is it's during the flow of the game and he had 6 assists and only 1 turnover. :P

I think they are thinking if he's good to play, play as much as is needed. He can always sit a game here or there if he needs to rest. Probably better that way to keep the number of games down compared to a college season and it will keep his averages up. :D

I love his development. His shooting has really come along. Way better-than-expected. The scouts were way off

Great that we're winning and that we have a healthy roster, but I do miss those 25 and 10 games from Scottie. He's going to have to take the role of #1 option, I don't think Fred or Pascal are going to just hand it to him.

He looks like a happy go lucky kind of guy. I dont think he has in him to take something from his teammate

Scottie has shown us he can score when he focuses on it. It’s something he can do if necessary. He still needs to improve in that regard, but I don’t mind his points going down as his assists go up. Especially now that we have all our main players back. I think the best version of Barnes averages 5+ assists per game, and he should be able to get there this season…maybe even getting 6/game if things break well. His playmaking and passes help make our offence work when we have so many weapons. The way he’s playing now is very smart and it helps our team win.

I’m more concerned about what seem to be problems with his biomechanics. I saw it in summer league too. It looks like sometimes he can’t move that well…but then he bounces back from it. It’s confounding. I’d like to see him work with a specialist in the off-season to see if there is something going on with his gait.

Just imagine how good he will be once he gets some offseason rico runs in.

We're just scratching the surface here. But he's already shown glimpses of everything from passing, handling, rebounding, above the break 3s, midrange pullups, floaters etc. Once he refines his game, which with come experience and hardwork, the sky is the limit given his physical profile.

Gives me Zion vibes when I see his gait, I legit feel uncomfortable when I see him lumber around on the court.

Hopefully in the off season they can address his hip flexors and that kind of stuff.

Beginning of the year I called Barnes would be playing at the 5 as a point forward and he’s been great at it with all the starters healthy. Love that he’s also playing primary back up now with Fred on bench.

People want all the sexy stats with Scottie but for him to adjust and play within a winning team while also putting up soft triple double numbers is outstanding.

Just so versatile with still so much room to grow.

Well said. An offseason working on his body and and his game and we can look forward to Scottie 2.0 next year... and a bigger role on the team...

Scottie hurting right now and his play has been greatly impacted as a result. When he's healthy again we will move to a whole new level now that Pascal is playing at all-star level again.
