Nah. He's just not a shooter. He'll go through his hot streaks (this recent one given the volume was unprecedented for him), but it's never been something he can rely on as a primary weapon. It should always be a complimentary piece to his driving game.

What a dreadful game by him, btw. Lakers are winning DESPITE him. +/- bears it out too.

He reminds me so much of Karl Malone when hes the post defender. His strength has gone nowhere and is near impossible to move down low and some of the fastest hands in the Nba on swipedowns

Great timing by THT to start playing well right before he becomes trade eligible.

Pelinka should be texting these THT clips to the Detroit GM.

I think he's become more of a shooter. He's having a bad game but could still rack up 30.

Shooting for him now is just coasting, saving his energy. He's been doing this recently where he coasts and goes hard in the last quarter or so. What he used to do is look to facilitate for the first half (now wit Westbrook he shoots).

Bron's done a great job in drop coverage against Trae.

Imagine if we kept AC...

AC, Monk, Reaves, Lebron, AD

Jesus

THT recovering some his trade value, nice

I think stanley johnson might have freed tht up to put mor energy on offense. He's been getting cooked on defense all year anyway

130 points before garbage time. 36 assists. Russ only 3 turnovers. Offense was awesome today, even if it's against the Hawks.

Also, the Hawks should be on Morey's phone right after this game for Simmons. He'll fix some of these defensive issues, if nothing else

Lakers have had fewer than 8 turnovers in 3 of the last 4 games (15 in the other one with Westbrook with 9 of those). Lakers have an ORtg near 128 in these games. Also, LeBron looking to score in the 4th rather than play make has been interesting.

When AD comes back he better not ruin this and stop the ball movement

Defense and rebounding will be better, or at least should be

If DJ gets cut he releases the nudes.

No other explanation for it lol.

for reference a 127 offensive rating would be a +17 offense this season

pf course is not sustainable but it shows the firwpower of small ball lineups that sacrifico defense and rebounding (at least in theory) for offense

the whole thingh would be unsustainable in playoffs (eerily reminiscent of the 2020 rockets imo)but for winning regular season games it should be enough

Coming into tonight, he was allowing .55 points per possession in the post, 94th percentile.

2022: .55 PPP, 94th percentile
2021: .80 PPP, 76th percentile
2020: .59 PPP, 95th percentile
2019: .83 PPP, 73rd percentile
2018: .47 PPP, 97th percentile
2017: .73 PPP, 84th percentile

2020 Rockets didn't have AD to clean up the defense nor did they have Vogel coaching defense.

I'm starting to believe in this team again

they'll blow out the grizzlies. They are crazy talented they only lost games because the team balance was lopsided. Stanley Johnson isn't a world beater by any means but just having one big wing slides everyone back to their most comfortable role with sufficient help on the other end to compensate the weaker guys. Would be truly OP with another 3 and D wing.

Hopefully you guys now see how handcuffed the old man was playing Point-Bron. He's falling into 30pt games even on nights where he's not even playing well. Not having to babysit the offense has completely freed him up to just gun lol.

Nothing about Point-Bron was sustainable. Having to make EVERY decision with the ball and score 25 a game? Look around the league, no one in their 30s has that kind of scoring-playmaking burden...that **** is HARD to do.

There's a reason why 2014 is my favorite season from him offensively. No babysitting just buckets lol.

There’s a good reason why no one has won a championship averaging 10 assists since Magic until LeBron did it.
