That's what an air fryer is?

That's all it is.

In terms of how it cooks, yes. But I think the form factor of an air fryer - with the basket and the hot plate within it that you plate the food on - yields slightly different results. That's at least a theory of mine having owned both in my lifetime and having noticed the differences. But if you already have a convection oven, you probably don't need an air fryer.

A sidecar might be the best drink of all time.

I don’t do hard alcohol anymore except the occasional mixed drink/shot at a bar. I was gifted a bottle of bourbon and had a bottle of Cointreau left over that was used to make a derby punch. Googled what to do with both and here we are.

Another skater - who also qualified for two other events - gave up her spot in the 500m, which lets Jackson (the world #1) onto the team. Very generous, albeit still an overall weird situation. Glad the world #1 will get to compete, though.

I had a head cold last week. One night in particular was pretty unpleasant with fever, headache, sore throat, and congestion. In general it was a pretty standard head cold though.

I got tested for covid on Friday and got my results today. POSITIVE

I had j&j with a moderna booster. I am a wedding photographer so it's likely that it came from one of the weddings we had over new years. My wife never even got a sniffle and I didn't have to be around anyone else so it's the best possible outcome for a positive result. I'm already basically back to 100%.

I'm actually almost relieved that it was positive now that I know my wife is fine and I'm fine. From what I've read, my experience was in line with other vaccinated people who had breakthrough cases. Covid is here to stay. Hopefully we are on the way to it being no worse than it was for me for everyone.

Glad you are feeling better. I had two coworkers (more actually) come to work last Thursday/Friday after being exposed by multiple others. To make it worse, they lied about having symptoms. Here I am Tuesday with chills, congestion, sore throat and a cough. I tested at one of the instant places yesterday but can't find the molecular testing sites until Friday. Pretty sure I have it.

Hoping I can get through it quickly like you. I am fully vaxxed and boosted. We'll see.

There's no guarantees obviously but I bet you'll be back to 100 by the end of the week. Hopefully your family comes through good as well. I have some experience with your coworkers. It's a mixed bag. :)

Glad you only had a mild case & are over it. The big concern now IMO (& from a personal perspective) is for immune compromised people. No one really knows how well (or poorly) the vaccines work for that group of people.

From what Ive read the Moderna booster probably helped a lot. Seems like that vaccine is still holding up fairly well.

Yeah. It seems like there's varying degrees of suck associated with the breakthrough cases but all of the boosters are doing a reasonable job at keeping people out of the hospital.

My work and life situation allows me to stay the hell away from people if I want and we always hunker down for a few days after weddings. I'm relatively confident that I avoided infecting anyone else which was always my greatest fear since the beginning of the pandemic.

It seems like progress is being made with therapeutics and knowledge about treating covid. Hopefully, the risk keeps dropping for those who are most susceptible to serious disease.

For sure. I was WFH until I retired last September. Still not eating out, going to events, etc. Pretty much grocery store, gas station, & doctor visits are it.

I've been WFH for 22 months. We can go to the office if vaxed and it works for some people who don't have a good WFH situation with kids or whatever. But I have a good set up and a dedicated office at home so I have no reason or desire to go in. Especially with this crap weather.

My company is stupid and plays the whole "we're a family business and it promotes collaboration to be in the office" since JUNE 2020. Also no masks since we're out of Dane County. Currently the entire office is getting wrecked, I think about 30-40 cases that I know of in the last two weeks.

Makes no sense but the job itself is too good to leave.

Same here, I've been WFH for 21 months. right now with the rise of Omicron the office is closed, but we had option to WFH/go to the office until Christmas. We only went to the office when we wanted to hang out after the shift so far. I absolutely hate the commute and the fact that I have to dress up when going to the office. The fact that I have become used to being able to mute myself and curse loudly for every stupid thing that's happening or during meetings doesn't help.

Im not an expert, but i thought with omicron the incubation period is extremely low. 10 days seems long? I think we are at the point where no one can say where they got it unless they were quarantining. My kid is in day care, my wife works 2 days aweek in an office, we go grocery shopping and I go to bucks games. With how many people have it and how contagious it is, there is no way i would have any idea where I got it.

I was going to respond to this before, but only just got around to it. Novak's Dad said some really weird nationalistic stuff which had nothing to do with what was happening, so then he rallied the local Serbian community and unfortunately I think there was a few 'protestors for hire' in this scene. Like Novak's Dad was claiming he was tortured and so forth.

That said the released transcripts I think are a bit of an indictment on how this was handled:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-01-11/novak-djokovic-australian-border-force-interview-highlights/100748678

I'm not a fan of Novak at all, but he really seemed to be trying to do the right thing in this instance.

Now if we want to discuss what he was doing around the time he was covid-positive on December 16th, that's another matter...

Tested positive using an at home test on Saturday. Went and got a pcr done the same day to confirm and for work. Still awaiting those results. I know they’re backed up but frustrating

Did you have the PCR done at a pharamacy or testing site or somewhere else?
