Re: GT #39: Bullets @ Bulls 8 PM (NBCSW/980 AM)
This is the best thing. We need a massive, morale crushing, losing streak as we head into the Trade Deadline. It's got to appear likely that Beal will leave in the offseason to convince management to trade him now. If we have hope of "being competitive" and "making the playoffs", Ted won't let Sheppard do the right thing and trade Beal now. Instead, he will wait until the offseason and we will be stuck with a crappy sign-and-trade lowball offer.

Not rooting for losses. Have Orlando twice and OKC coming up, so if they can't beat those scrubs, rip everything apart. I don't see a huge losing streak coming up. But they'll say, we didn't have Rui. We didn't have Bryant. Trez has been on the Covid list for awhile. They are kind of right, but I don't believe they are the magic elixir and that everything will be ok. We don't even know if Rui is ok and Bryant at the 4? Not sure he'll be mobile enough to cover guys on the perimeter coming off an ACL injury. We've already seen Gafford struggle with switches on the perimeter.
Here is the upcoming schedule before the Feb. 10 trade deadline:
Magic on the road
OKC at home
Portland a home
76ers at home
Nets at home
Toronto at home
Boston at home
Clippers at home
Grizzlies on the road
Bucks on the road
76ers on the road
Suns at home
Heat at home
Nets at home on Feb. 10

Beal still thinks Lonzo Ball is the rookie version that couldn't shoot. No wonder he had 10 seconds to shoot wide open 3s tonight. Defense starts with effort and it starts with Beal, who for some reason relaxes when Dinwiddie returns because he doesn't have to handle the point all night.

We can free him by dealing him to a contender.

How nice of Beal? Joking around, uninvolved in huddles in our loss to Houston but finds time to coach up the opponent's players. All fluff and no substance.

They have another game at home versus the Magic between OKC and Portland. With that said, as nate mentioned, hopefully this will be the beginning of the end. If they can't get things together in the next 4 (@ORL, OKC, ORL, POR), say and only go 2-2, it should grease the wheel for a meltdown because that schedule is brutal (combined .602 win percentage) even with a ton of home games.
But being the Wizards they'll luck out get Trez, Rui, and Bryant back, get hot to start it off just to make us start kinda (but not really) feeling good again, then start to stumble towards the break, and we make a move to "put us over the top" at the deadline. Ah the joy.

Beal is the guy we want to make our franchise player? The one who takes time out of the game to coach up the opposition? What kind of weak bs is that? No fire in that guy. Someone said it earlier, he knows he is about to have a massive pay day.

Surprisingly effective on defense, didn't get too many looks on offense but created some out of thin air being a pest on the offensive glass.
I quite liked him, probably not any room on this roster but I think he can help teams if this outing is any indication.

Finally finished watching the game. I thought they played ok but when you shoot 7-24 from 3 and the other team shoots 15-33 that is a big problem to overcome.
Obviously our depleted bench was no match for 'Chicago's but our 3 pt shooting is really cringe worthy. On the season only two teams in the league shoot worse than our 32.4%.
