As much as I hated the game of shamet his loss with the loss of Green have made huge difference. Green especially since he played more of a role. His three point shooting is greatly missed. The worst thing they did the off season was resign Blake and let green go. Should have been the opposite. And they never replaced the shooting loss with both of them.

Marks went too defensive. Thinking that because he had the big three he didn’t need to surround them with guys that can shoot. Honestly if mills has a bad shooting game the team loses. And who would have though that Durant would shoot so poorly from three.

And harden has to stop bringing the ball up so slowly all the time. Every play he barely gets it over the line in 8 seconds. So the nets are always starting their plays late in the shot clock. It leaves no room for play action. Especially when after he does he dribbles for 10 seconds. And then starts the play. Harden is the problem with the offense. For some reason he went from being able to run the team perfectly last year to not knowing what to do this year. And it’s not his lack of fitness. It’s his lack of effort or want

Okay, what's our best guess as to why Mike Dan & Tony left us, anyway?

Like, was it *really* due to upward mobility (ala NO), or was it perhaps to get away from someone? And/or to get away from a broken process which stopped listening to his input?

All I know for sure is that something's up, and I don't mean the drunken, hooker-sex parties. (every team in the league, amirite?)

To be fair Steve Kerr never logged one min as an assistant either.

Nash did work as a consultant for the Warriors before joining Brooklyn.

Man, he was a gm for PHX during their glory days with Nash and D'Antoni. GM'ing still gives out perspective duh f*** you you doing and what type of team you building and does it fit it's system. He failed simply because he wasn't competent back than. He took step dawn and became a coach with GSW already knowing f*** it takes be a coach. This s*** didn't came from nowhere. Pop's became a coach stepping down from being GM. See pattern here? Cmon son, did you really ment what you just said or you f*** trolling me.

Sorry if my past few week post been aggressive and disrespectful, it's just I'm so fqn frustrated af. This moron literally destroying most talented team assembled.

Since Nets never leak s*** my assumption is J. KIDD s*** with Frank. Remember when he got him tossed sometime after, my best guess it's same s*** here.

Get rid of Nash and hire D’Antoni into his rightful role. Instant offense with him running it. He’ll run us into a nice system.

The lack of spacing and movement is killing us. If guys can't shoot, then they need to be moving around to create opportunities for passes and scores.

No screens off ball, no back door cuts, nothing. Nash literally has non shooters standing in corners watching Harden and KD attempt to score versus 3 defenders.

Marks needs to wake tf up before his buddy destroys this team. If he already hasn't

that’s something I really hate about this front office and their belief system. There’s a lot of if you just tried harder you could do it. It ignores why what skillset/physical profile every player has. As if Nash himself would have made it the league because his length, defense or rebounding.
It’s pretty impressive what we done against non contenders. Even last season the teams opponent FG% was elite. I don’t knock Nash or the staff for their system cause it works. But it would work better on both ends if they had the actual personnel for it.
We need more length, rebounding and multiple spot up shooters.

All I will say is there is a high likely hood this team isn’t winning a ring and I absolutely blame Kyrie for this and it’s pathetic how the biggest FA acquisitions this team has ever had can’t get it done nor can we ever find a good coach to coach this team. What a joke; Everyone is blaming Nash and while he takes a large portion of blame, so does Kyrie for sabotaging the damn season. You have to realize continuity and chemistry play a role in winning and winning big. Whatever, if we don’t get it done, I’m not opposed to a rebuild and getting younger players and maybe even get Giannis in two years.

Heck, who knows, maybe we get lucky and get Mitchell and Giannis at some point. Still young players.

I still think the main issue is the offense. The defense is ok but it can't carry the team. This is never going to be a great defensive team.

Our offense now is completely reliant on KD being awesome, Harden playing well and Mills playing well.

If one of those 3 guys isn't doing that we suck. There is no other offensive option on this team.

Aldridge doesn't look back to normal. Everyone else can't really do anything consistently.

This is again why I was pissed about the Shamet trade. We need shooting. And we gave away a great shooter for what? One guy who sucks. Another who we don't even play.

Jeff Green was another huge loss.

Mills was going to be on and off. Harden STILL sucking this late into this season is just unacceptable. He is preventing us from being a contender by playing like this.

Nash needs to FIGURE OUT a new offense for this team. And soon.

The thing is, you can blame Nash for the offense being ISO heavy and stagnant and not having enough ball movement or actions...but these aren't criticisms that haven't followed KD and Harden around their entire careers. Harden is a known ball stopper and someone that's known to grind an offense to a halt. KD has been notorious for being a bit of a ball hog who forces ISOs like crazy, to the detriment of a good flow to the offense. I mean, he did it in GS, they had a free flowing offense, and they became somewhat stagnant and ISO heavy with KD. It was worth it, but these are who these guys are. They've never been great at encouraging ball movement, player movement, and offensive diversity.

I feel like it's a recurring theme to just keep dumping on the coach while absolving the players of any real blame. And also ignoring how limited we are in terms of personnel right now. We simply don't have enough shooting to space the floor properly. In retrospect, yes, losing Green and Shamet were big losses in that sense, but we all pretty much agreed at the time that Griffin and Mills were better options. Mills is more or less what Shamet was, and Griffin regressed a lot, which is disappointing.

But Harden to me is the far bigger issue than Nash. He just looks straight up ineffective, and is playing some really dumb and passive basketball.

Also, I don't think Harden is a great PG, contrary to popular belief. I actually think he kinda sucks at it. Specifically because he's so slow in terms of initiating any offense, his decision-making honestly isn't that great and leads to a lot of bad shots and TOs where he's flailing and hoping for a foul, and he doesn't do ANYTHING off the ball. Like, when Curry gets trapped in the PnR and passes it off for a 4 on 3 opportunity and the defense collapses, he immediately relocates when the defense is off balance and slightly confused, and sets himself up for an open shot or open lane or just any additional opportunity...when Harden passes the ball, he stands there and watches. He does not move.

So I'm honestly curious, what's your ideal rotation where we would have ample shooting around KD and Harden?

LMA as a stretch 5 maybe, and Mills and Bembry? Nobody really pays attention to LMA at the 3pt line anyway, and Bembry is a non shooter. So that still leaves just KD and Harden and Mills. And how many minutes are we going to run those 3? We have guys like Brown and Duke and Edwards and Griffin and Johnson off the bench too. Literally none of them scare a defense from deep whatsoever.

We don't have shooters. IDK why people keep harping on that point, like Nash has options here.

Even if you believe Harden/Durant are too iso heavy does it matter? Are they supposed to be screen runners like the Warriors? Or was the team supposed to build like the James Harden teams of the past that were extremely successful?
Do we not think the highly portable Durant wouldn’t have made the Rockets unbeatable? I doubt that’s the belief of anyone. So why doesn’t this team resemble the best version of the Rockets? Do we believe if Curry left for another team that the new offense wouldn’t be that coach take on the Dubs system? Harden the system onto hisself player isn’t given his it the personnel for his system.
Are we going to be the team that doesn’t build around the strengths of their core while hiding their weaknesses.
Honestly I don’t see how anyones conclusion isn’t that 4-15 is pretty bad. If compared to other 4-15’s we are pretty low in the league.

You gotta look at what he did last season vs this season. He was perfect last season before the injury.

The biggest difference is spacing. In Houston, when he drove to the basket, there were shooters around him and there was the lob threat in Capela. Same thing here. Last year, all of our role players can shoot threes, Green, Shamet, Joe, Tyler which makes the game easier for him. Now what do we have? Nil shooting if Mills is off. Then Nets become super easy to defend. Pack the paint waiting for Harden, double team KD or Harden when they have the ball, dare our role players to shoot. If our role players can’t punish them from 3, it’s basically over even if KD and Harden drops great numbers. Harden is not Kyrie or KD who can just go and get you bucket regardless of the system. You need to surround him with spacing or lob threat, then he will bring you the goods. Let me put it this way, you give him three shooters who shoot around 36% on 3’s and an athletic center, the 5 home game losses would most likely be reversed.

When Joe comes back, it will be greatly improved. Then you add a full time Kyrie if possible…all these issues will be solved but I think we need another shooter because if one of them went down, it would be ugly again.

In todays NBA, if you can’t/don’t shoot 3’s, it would be hard to win games. Check all the top teams in both conferences, they have all a respectful amount of 3pt shooters. Joe coming back would SIGNIFICANTLY boost everyone’s 3p %, but it would be ideal if we can get another shooter before the trade deadline or perhaps give Edwards more playing time and see if he develops..not that I think Nash would play him.

He was certainly a lot better last year, but I do think he played differently too. Way more decisive, made quicker decisions, and we got into our sets faster as a result. I think he was more motivated to make it work with Kyrie and Durant and played the way everyone doubted he could. But now I fear he's just regressed into his old bad habits, and he's not nearly as good at that anymore to make it worth it.

Dude, like how many times does he barely get the ball past half court with 16 seconds left? And for the next 10 seconds, he doesn't do anything with the ball, except try a useless screen where he doesn't put any pressure on the defense, and then ends up taking a step back 3 with less than 5 seconds on the clock? Or he gets trapped, passes the ball, and then stands there without putting any extra pressure on the defense? So then he'll get the ball back in the exact same spot and it's another step back 3?

He's become so easy to defend, it's infuriating. He's a negative impact player right now, we are honestly better with him on the bench.
