Lebron has definitely entered the conversation.

Got to say, I miss the formula.

Aww, that's sweet. You're probably the only one (besides myself, in my weak moments, lol). I deleted it and all of my spreadsheets, so as to free up time for things that matter more in life.

Of course we don't want to hear it, we've been hearing it since the moment he came into the NBA

But they didn't. You could apply that to any team that wins with a buzzer-beater, or something else on the final minute of play etc. It happens a lot.

But in this case it didn't happen, and if KD's foot was back an inch, who's not to say the shot rims out? I am getting tired of this argument being used constantly to point out how 'lucky' we were to win, as if we came from nowhere, and haven't been the dominant team over the RS of the previous two years, and put it together in the playoffs in the third year.
The shot didn't rim out lol. It went in, he wears shoes one size bigger. His foot was actually behind the line. I agree overall with what you're saying though.

He wears shoes a different size and who's to say he has the game he had at all? Let alone the fact that he went 0-7 in OT. With that evidence, I can say that the long 2 was lucky to even go in at all considering how fatigued he was. BKN was lucky to even get to an OT.

We can go around in circles with these hypotheticals, right through a whole bunch of games throughout NBA history. All it does here is try to put an asterisk on the Bucks championship.

MVP tracker update:

Giannis 30.1%
Jokic 19.3%
Durant 10.7%
Gobert 10.1%

Curry 7.7%
Paul 7.1%
Lebron 5%
Harden 4.6%
DeRozan 3%
Morant 2.6%

Giannis and Jokic up, Curry slides. Ja makes his debut, Embiid can't be far away from qualifying and racing up the board.

Harden over DeRozan & Morant isn't surely accurate to me. LeBron is also higher than PG.

edit: for some reason, I thought of Paul George and not CP3.

In my mind also. Unlike last year, when people where salivating on LBJ that did not play particularly great but Lakers were close to the top, this year he has much better chance in my mind. He plays better, Lakers do seem lost without him, and they could easily go to the top. Last year I was really annoyed with all the salivation over LBJ not particularly great performances, and he was NEVER in my book a contender for MVP. This year he is easily top 3 (with Jokic and Giannis).

giannis antetokounpko -------> the best player in basketball and has been since last season's obvious all-time dominant post-season run. give him the mvp easily.

It bothers me how little attention that LaVine gets. I know he’s a dark horse, but the guy is having an insanely efficient season. A better season than guys like Harden and Ja imo

Embiid is rocketing up the charts. Besides the “stats”. The most important stat is sixers are 19-8 with embiid. He’s actually been pretty healthy outside the 9 Covid missed games.

All this without Simmons all season and the entire sixers team in/out with Covid.

Something about playing with another mvp type player.

LaVine and DeMar are each other's own worst enemies when it comes to MVP.

I mean LaVine just isn’t an MVP-caliber player. He’s an awesome scorer but he’s a weak defender and not a noteworthy playmaker.

Bron was very much in it last year, until that moron barrelled into his ankle. Hopefully he can stay relatively healthy until the end of the season cuz he’s been incredibly fun to watch.

Why on earth is Jokic up there? Cuz he’s putting up great numbers? We’ve had Lebron doing that the past 18 years with far more successful teams. He got his MVP last year just like Russ did in 2017.

It's just a formula that weighs relevant measurable stats. It's a combo of boxscore and wins. It's just that Jokic's numbers are so high he factors high on the board in spite of bad win %.
