Just trade Schröder for a pick...

Trading Brown for inferior players makes no sense...quality > quantity

We need to be patient, just 1,5 years until Udoka gets fired...

Too bad. Must be some really bad blood on the Celtics side. 10 day contract during a dismal, pathetic, non entertaining season that is going absolutely nowhere would have been a nice distraction for a couple of weeks but not meant to be.

Shut up, IT. Dude is annoying, maybe he shouldn’t have eaten himself out of the league for a couple
of seasons.

Hardy and messina were guys I wanted. Along with Cassell.

Ettore Messina is an idea, and so is Pablo Lasso, the head coach at Real Madrid. But if Will Hardy is so good, why isn't he helping Udoka more?

You're all over this thread advocating for Udoka and saying he's being scapegoated. Now your argument against Will Hardy is he hasn't stopped Udoka from sucking.

No more shoot first PG, but PG still needs to be a good shooter.

Smart isn't shoot-first (made a conscious effort past few seasons to just take open threes and this season to drive more) but still can't shoot for crap.

I'm ok with the Comedian's statement that everyone is to blame. The question is, who gets the lion's share? Let's remember that Udoka was the hand-picked choice of Tatum, Brown and Smart , all of whom gushed over the hire.

You can rush around rearranging the deck chairs on the sinking ship, or you can try to plug the hole that's the major reason why the ship is sinking.

For the last year and a half, the Jays are responsible. They need to man up. They wanted the chance to lead this team. In the offseason they even got the coach they wanted.

They are running out of excuses. It´s time for them to make this team win.

Fox and Hali hey? I’ve tuned out for a while but what’s up with Fox? I thought they rated him?

Can Fox/Hali/Tatum co-exist or are we just shifting deck chairs on a sinking ship here?

None of these in-season trade ideas seem very exciting.

So I say fix the rotation, which naturally will lead to the Jays playing with more shooters and the kids getting more playing time, and see how the rest of the season goes.

Schroeder: If he's kept at all, play him only when Smart is out, or when you're desperate due to injuries, COVID, and/or how the game has gone.

Center: Ask Rob and Al to facilitate more. Play them together only when desperate.

That leaves the other three positions to be divided among a bunch of guys who can shoot, or who have been able to shoot in the past, or who are Romeo.

Another problem with trying to perfume the all star pigs is that the trade market for Smart is limited. He would have considerable value to a contender, but not to a middle of the pack or rebuilding team. So you'd get a matching salary plus a late first round pick, that's it. (Maybe you can find a contender with a large enough trade exception but I don't think there is one.)
Ask yourself which players on the team have trade value around the league, not just value for a limited number of teams.

Yeah, no argument there. We have room for ONE non-shooter in the starting lineup and that's Rob.

Which shouldn't even be the case. Why are we pigeonholing him to be a non-shooter? He has the stroke from midrange. Why not try to extend that further? I recall Stevens giving the green light to guys like Sully and Amir Johnson. Rob with an outside shot (and someone who can finish after one or two dribbles) would be a much more potent offensive threat.

I would love Isaiah back. This team sucks anyway and he'd love to be back. Gives us some good joojoo at the very least. Guy busted his *** for this team. Gave it all for Boston. The disrespect he gets is pretty f*cked up. Nothing but love for the little guy.

Jaylen for Haliburton/Barnes, let’s goooooo.

I really really wanted Haliburton in the draft to join WITH Brown and Tatum, not instead of one. But, it’s sunk cost fallacy at this point. If a trade makes the team better it should be on the table.

Barnes is only 29. He may actually be a better fit with Tatum than Brown is. Knows his role, would be a 2nd banana and he’s got the size to play 3 or 4.

Can't get both. But here's my Jaylen question:

If we send Brown to Philly and Ben goes to Sacramento, obviously Haliburton would have to come to Boston - but what else would we want if you could add a fourth team? Kings could ship Hield, Barnes, Bagley, picks to us or another team..

Brown for Hali, Bagley, Patrick Williams, Coby White-or-Bulls 1st, with Harrison Barnes to Chicago? Maybe step back in the short term, since Haliburton can't match Jaylen's production, but..

Or Brown and Covington to PHI, Simmons and POR 1st to SAC, Barnes and Juancho to POR, and Haliburton, Nance, Bagley, SAC 1st here?

Or Barnes goes to CLE, we get Rubio (expiring) and Okoro..

Don't love any of those deals.. and I don't think the Kings are actually willing to deal Tyrese, they're dangling him to stay in talks and hoping something changes for the other teams involved.

I guess you also open up 3-4 team options if Atlanta is serious about Ben Simmons and Philly wants Jaylen..

Huerter, Hunter, Reddish, Okongwu, Gallo and Bogdan.. Hawks can work a ton of permutations..
