You don't think the upgrade from Green to Barnes is similar to the upgrade from Fox to Simmons?
I think that Barnes is duplicative with Harris, who is still a Sixer after this deal. So Green for Barnes just means the Sixers are down a wing and have a 20M backup PF. Also there needs to be somewhat significant value added to Fox to get Simmons.
Philly's the one who's going to be adding pieces here buddy. Nobody is trading a star for complimentary piece like Simmons, you'd think eight months of getting zilch would have taught you that already.
Also, Barnes is a 3+D guy who can defend SFs and PFs well, he's like the opposite of Harris. He's averaging 16/6 on 41% from 3, you're high if you think Green for Barnes isn't a significant upgrade.
hmm, I agree with him, and disagree with you. Ok to consider Fox a star, I might do it too, but he is a rising one, that commit a lot of errors, isnt a great shooter, what would be ideal to pair Embiid with, but yes, he is a star. Fox isnt a young player anymore, he is already on a max deal, we should expect a high level of play. Also I agree that Simmons is a complementary piece, the point here is, Simmons is one of the best complementary pieces on the league on my view, in the right roster he will play on the fastbreaks, pass to the open man, help on the boards and be a defensive nightmare, while Fox is among the lesser stars, for me a great complementary piece is better than a so so star.
Barnes is very good, and I wished Miami to chase him in a trade, he would be very nice in our roster, though PJ Tucker is playing very nice. Though Barnes cant play the 3, or better saying, he is much better playing the 4, and Tobias too, the Sixers know he isnt a viable 3, its redundant. Talent wise its nice return for Simmons, but not the best fit for the Sixers. They have Embiid, who might be a viable fulcrum of a title team, they cant make a mistake with a big trade now, it would be hard to get off of Fox contract if this doesnt work
