Really love how the guys played today. Not a lot of dumb mistakes as usual and played smart on offense. Just finish them off now

This is a pretty ridiculous statement and let's me know exactly where your head is as a "fan"

Yeah, especially with the fact that the team needs any any everyone to play well offensively to give the team a chance. Time to put this cat on ignore...

The Clippers had their morning Coffey with lunch today. 8-)

Great win. Hopefully Atlanta helps turn our season around like they did last year.

That was a much needed victory.

I was expecting Young to go off for 50.

I hope Kristina Pink is ok. That was a hard fall. Seemed like she was more embarrassed than anything though

The defense did it in this one and then they were able to get a lot of offensive contribution from different guys. Coffey of course was great, but then Bledsoe did well, and man, Ibaka was just hitting it finishing in that 2nd half.

It's still going to be a tough month, so gotta appreciate every win.

7 players in double figures today. That's team basketball. Bledsoe pls no more donut games, we need his production to survive this grueling month.

Nice, much needed team win. Morale is down, so a win like this hopefully boosts some spirits.

The Brewmaster with a great game... this is his opportunity to get big minutes while guys are out, and he's taking advantage of it. Bled off the bench with a game high +23. Hard to gauge since the rotation is different each game, but hopefully the coaching staff can figure out which guys play best with him.

And ouch Christina... glad she's okay. Lol at Chuck the Condor just watching without any reaction.

The coffee/Coffey puns were on full force by Clipper fans and beat writers on Twitter. Personally, I can't stand them, but let me satisfy your tastebuds with some of the best I've found:

Because of this, yes, I'm going there...

As for the game itself, the opponent's best rebounders being ruled out was practically the only way for the Clippers to win the battle of the boards. Being 21st in total rebounds per game (43.9 RPG, 1st MEM 48.3) and 27th in offensive rebounds per game (8.9 ORPG, 30th PHI 8.4, 1st MEM 13.5) is absolutely not ideal. But allowing 47.8 RPG (3rd) and 12.1 ORPG (1st, league leading) to your opponents - U-G-L-Y, UGLY. For total rebounds, the top two teams ahead of LAC, Hornets and Thunder in countdown order, are lottery teams. Clippers are in the lottery by default via under .500 record. They need to get an assistant coach with a pedigree in rebounding, an offensive rebound coach specialist of sorts. It could even require trading for, or aquiring via buyout market, a rebounding specialist.

No offense, but if the only way for Clippers to have good games is by literally starting a player whose last name is a literal personification for a morning jump start and perk-me-up (which is what coffees are supposed to do), something is wrong with their competitive ire.

I mean, the team playing right now just isn't very good, and the top line absences also reduces our depth at the bottom.

There are times when want it or not, other teams are going to have more talent and/or energy.

Thank goodness Marcus is healthy, I guess he's our best scorer right now? (gulp)

Was it a great—as in “Well played!” game? No.
Was it a great—as in “Both teams had full strength NBA rosters!” game? No.
Was it a great—as in “The players we had available played hard, and got it done!” game? Absolutely.

Depends on what you want to see. If you’re looking for top level NBA action in a league ravaged by Covid, and a team that’s missing players that play nearly 40% of court time as well as Kawhi Leonard, you’re just not going to get it. I think the expectations are false in that case, but that’s just me. And I really like the “high floor/low ceiling” description for Coffey. I doubt he’ll ever be a good high, or even mid level rotation player. But he’s become fairly dependable for 12-15 mpg and shown he can hold his own in the NBA more often than not—and that’s a solid low rotation player. To me, getting 800 decent minutes a season for $1.5 million is a good deal

Absolutely. Previously I wrote that at age 24+ and as lifelong G-Leaguer, once the COVID settles down, Coffey isn't going to get any "development minutes." They need to go to 20-yr-olds Brandon Boston and Keon Johnson.

So Amir is playing with his ass on fire while T-Mann is playing scared. T-Mann is set for life now [$25M guaranteed] but two-way Amir ain't got sh*it.

Just sayin'. Amir is starting and Mann is coming off the bench. DISCUSS.

If Coffey can maintain a reliable 'weapon-ish' 3PT shot, he's like a budget Terance Mann. They are both good glue guys, neither is super athletic although Terance has an edge there too.

I'm really happy for the guy, he had a terrible Summer League- I think it might have partly been the result of trying to do too much, which isn't his MO at all in the NBA.
