Terrible.

Well, now we're Trailblazers East. You gamble that Halliburton becomes a star. If he doesn't, you draft well.

The Celtics have a way out of the treadmill but they won't trade Smarts contract...

Its maddening.

In what way? Are you aiming for salary cap room?

Disagree that they lucked into Jrue, they paid top dollar, and we should have outbid them.

Jrue and Hali were too huge misses imo

How was Haliburton, picked several spots above our pick, a huge miss?

If I'm not mistaken, it was 1 spot above us, and we had 3 frps. He was projected to go much higher than he actually went.

Haliburton went 2 spots above us and you can't force the Kings to take 25th and 30th pick to pass on a guy they want.

Anyway im looking at bulls and suns and how they went from lottery teams to what they are now - the majority of fans used to refer to most of their young core ‘empty stats’ players. Well it seems like we are now managing a hell of an empty stats roster. Not sure what is missing - probs that leader who will put the Js in a corner when they **** up. Smart can’t do that

Those teams are full of unselfish players. Look at the top players on the Suns, Booker/Paul, two players that move the ball well. DeRozen and Lavine have never been good distributors but booth are more unselfish than the Jays(both average near 4.5 assists). You just cant have both your top players be soball dominant.

Yeah I like him too. At this point though he’s somewhat limited as a scorer though and isnt really a pg.

Watching Bane start at the 2 for the Grizz is painful to see as well!

Any chance of seeing Hali+Hield for Brown+Juancho?

It would bring Celtics out of the tax (which might be helpful for team future spending).

Smart, Hali, Tatum, Horford, RW3 -- Schroeder, Hield, J-Rich, GWill, Kanter

That is a well-rounded team IMO.

Love Haliburton and he's one of the few i'd trade Jaylen for but I think Barnes instead of heild makes more sense for us.

Why does it make more sense? Would you start RW3 or Horford on the bench?

I saw Celtics currently have multiple good PF options: Tatum, Horford, GWill
Barnes is the better player overall but Hields shooting and gravity offers a different dynamic for the team I thought.

Perhaps Brown+GWill for Hali+Barnes would be the offer?

Kings need to throw in multiple picks in a Brown for Haliburton deal. Haliburton is Lonzo Jr. Not a top 30 guy.

The West appears to be weaker than it has been for years this season, and the Kings are still not very good. I don’t think bringing in a couple of their players is making any difference for the Celtics at all if Brown is going out in the deal. Seeing if you can turn non-Tatum/Brown players into someone like Halliburton makes some sense if you think he could be more of a difference maker.

If Brown or Tatum are traded, the Celtics should be expecting a pretty big haul in return.

I don't know what the balancing trade would be but the idea is to put Tatum on the sf position IMO.

Haliburton is still on his rookie deal. With that it means more years of control compared to brown who will cost much more in 2 years. With Tyrese you get a chance to upgrade in other positions for players of higher salary cost.

Yup would love a good passing point guard, but he’s out for the season sadly.

Send Brown and Al to Kings.
Ship Hield to Wizards
Ship a combo of ballast (neismith, Grondo) and FRP also to Wizards (potentially 2 picks from Kings or 1+1)
Send Beal to Celtics

Celtics build a trio of Fox, Beal, Tatum
Wizards get hield neismith grondo and picks
Kings get Brown and Al

Are we better as a team ?
Is it a pipedream ?

---------------

Edit: Not sure if people prefer haliburton but have a feeling Kings wont be too happy to part with him.
Either case, for Hali to work(and assuming we think he can become a primary ball handler) Al stays behind and whatever value Wizards get revolves around picks.

I dont care about the finalised details all i'm trying to think is a framework where the following events occur:

Step 1: We get a new PG and Beal
Step 2: I dont care

With Bol Bol en route to Detroit and the mismatch of timelines, who says no:

Olymyk + 2nd round pick

for

Romeo + Hernangomez + Fernando

Detroit gets a young asset in Langford, Cs get a two-big lineup big that actually meshes well with Rob.

I'd be disappointed to trade Romeo for Kelly at this point. I'd rather see what Romeo can do for a whole season than trade for Kelly on the hopes we win a couple playoff games.

Schroder for Jalen Smith

Then just have to find a home for Horford for, Ideally, a shooter.

I kinda wish we did not trade the draft rights of Bane. Him smack talking Lebron yesterday is already a keeper.

doubtful that Brad trades Brown or Tatum unless he's absolutely blown away with an offer. Just for fun, with Klay back I think it's about time for Golden State to go All-In for another title or two while Steph is still a superstar. The type of "blow you away trade" that Stevens couldn't refuse hypothetically could be an offer from Golden State.

Jaylen Brown/Horford/Romeo for Wiggins/Wiseman/Kuminga/Poole.

Why for the Warriors: Go All-In.. It's time. The west could be theirs for the next 2-3 seasons with a powerhouse starting 5 of Steph/Klay/Jaylen/Green/Horford. WOW.

Why for Boston: Although Wiggins/Poole aren't Jaylen Brown, they are good players. Wiseman/Kuminga give you the young players with major upside. Gives Boston plenty of ammunition to land Beal in a S/T as well.

Thoughts?
