To me, it's pretty clear that we need a PG. I'm just not that crazy about the options out there.

I do really like two college PGs though. Kennedy Chandler and TyTy Washington are IMO going to be really good floor generals in the NBA.

You might argue that a young PG would not be a good fit with a Jaylen/Tatum window but I'm watching Maxey (a player I also really wanted and was right there waiting for us) flourish in Philly and think a young PG could do well here.

I think one of these guys is going to be available around pick #10 because there are really good wings and bigs available in this draft, so I'd like Brad to put together a trade that could net us a pick in that range.

In the meantime, I'd like to see PP start at PG but still let Jaylen explore this point forward role. PP to me is a sniper but his shooting drops off when he has to be the primary ball handler.

The type of "blow you away trade" that Stevens couldn't refuse hypothetically could be an offer from Golden State.

Jaylen Brown/Horford/Romeo for Wiggins/Wiseman/Kuminga/Poole.

Why for the Warriors: Go All-In.. It's time. The west could be theirs for the next 2-3 seasons with a powerhouse starting 5 of Steph/Klay/Jaylen/Green/Horford. WOW.

Why for Boston: Although Wiggins/Poole aren't Jaylen Brown, they are good players. Wiseman/Kuminga give you the young players with major upside. Gives Boston plenty of ammunition to land Beal in a S/T as well.

Thoughts?

The Warriors would want Smart or the Timelord instead of Horford.

I do love everyone's enthusiasm in this trade thread even though everyone knows the only thing the Celtics are going to do is something around the edges with the likes of Schroder, Juancho, Freedom and Bruno or do absolutely nothing at all.

Hmmm! Seems like a natural fit for the Celtics.

We are discussing what should be done, not what will be done.

and we'd say "no". Jaylen is best player in that deal...they would have to bend some to get it done. it's not like Wiseman or Kuminga are sure things...

The 19-21 Celtics have indicated to rival teams that they want to build around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown — and have no interest to split up the two All-Star forwards right now, sources said. The 18-21 Celtics appear open for business around other players on the roster. Boston engaged with the 76ers before the season about a potential Simmons deal, but showed no inclination to move Brown.

Also apparently John Collins is not happy in Atlanta right now and they want Simmons per Shams

a collins for simmons swap would be interesting

That creates a logjam in Philly though, imo, with HArris and Collins both being suited for the PF spot.

In case it wasn't clear your reaction was my point. There has been a lot of Westbrook talk in this forum over the last week.

Thread on GB discussing that Kings would trade either Fox or Halliburton: viewtopic.php?t=2154594

Could Boston get one without trading either Brown or Tatum? Would Fox or Halliburton be worth moving one of the Jays?

Shams says exact package would be Collins and Reddish and picks if it happened

I really like Halliburton. Although, I have no idea why Sacto would be open to dealing him already. Halliburton would be an excellent fit with the J's & Timelord. He's a steady combo guard that shoots it over 40%...Plays calm...plays within the flow of the team/game. Put him in a situation like Boston and I think he would develop into a really, really good player. He's never going to be a superstar, but he can be a really good player in the Malcom Brogdon sense.

My best & final would be Pritchard/Romeo/two 1st round picks for Halliburton. I'm that high on him. Or if they wanted a Grant Williams/Nesmith package with the picks I'm fine with that too. Basically, whatever 2 young players they want plus two 1st round picks.

I love Halliburton. He's exactly what this team needs.

Anyone not named Tatum, Brown, Timelord I would be willing to trade for Haliburton. Including Smart

Hali
Richardson
Brown
Tatum
Timelord

I have thought that a deal letting Sacramento shed Hields salary might also be an asset to count for getting Hali,
ie: Horford, Nesmith, Romeo, Bruno, 1st 2022 for Hield and Hali

Yeah man. Celtics aren't trading Jayson Tatum. He's about as close to untouchable as there is...I would guesstimate there are maybe 2-4 players in the entire league Brad Stevens would move him for....certainly not a poo-poo platter of guys on a lousy team. Part of the Kings problem is that a lot of those guys don't want to play together....changing uniforms isn't going to change that.

Guys I'd be interested in order from Sacto.

Halliburton
Barnes
Fox

but not all together.

MAYBE Jaylen + some in a deal for those 3 guys.

The Kings may be willing to give up De’Aaron Fox or Tyrese Haliburton to get Ben Simmons, but the Sixers‘ interest in either player is limited, according to Kyle Neubeck of The Philly Voice. Tyrese Maxey has solved Philadelphia’s need for a point guard, so any deal involving Fox would have to be a three-team trade, Neubeck states, and the Sixers don’t view Haliburton as a strong enough return for Simmons.
