Israel played Poland in the qualifying rounds for the 2023 FIBA World Cup on 11/25. Here are the highlights of the game (Yam Madar finished with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, and 1 TO in 32 minutes).

Madar continues to show good mid range game, and ability to create separation off the dribble, like the play at the :38 mark.
Nice wrap around pass at 1:02
1:09 nice cut to the rim and finish through contact
3:17 really nice pass here. He seems to really know how to keep the ball moving out there.
3:28 another nice pass here off a drive and kick to open shooter - this is the type of play I just don't know if Pritchard can make
Really seems like an unselfish player who is content with quickly moving the ball around, getting his teammates involved. Seems like Israel had some good rhythm/flow to their offense with Madar running the point.

Brad Stevens is in Europe. He attended a game between Olimpija and Partizan, where Yam plays...Austin Ainge was with him...
Yam scored 16 points but his team lost: https://www.aba-liga.com/match/73/21/1/Boxscore/q1/1/home/partizan-nis-cedevita-olimpija/

This is the highlights from the game Stevens and Ainge attended:
The full game is on youtube too but i am not watching the whole thing lol
Comes off the bench. As soon as he comes in he makes a couple of really nice plays:
1:02 Some indecision here at first - looks like he isn't sure if he wants to drive or shoot it. But he stays patient/poised, then makes a jab step that totally fakes out the defender - to the point where the defender falls on the floor! Now with a wide open look, Madar hits the 3. Nice move.
1:15 high screen set for Madar, he comes off the screen with good burst which gives him a good look for a mid range jumper - he could've taken the shot but he gives up a good look for himself to get a GREAT look for a teammate - Madar makes a sick pass to open big man under the basket for a dunk.
Then in 2nd half..
2:20 This is something small but you need guys who do the little things to help win games. He's guarding a shooter on the weak side. Strong side wing shoots a 3 - he's wide open because one of madar's teammates is way out of position - so Madar's big man teammate rotates out to try and contest the shot, which leaves opposing big man wide open under the basket. Madar sees his teammate rotate out to the open shooter - he doesn't hesitate at all - Madar immediately rotates to the opposing big man who's open under the basket - like clockwork - he then boxes out the opposing big man. Again, it's a little thing here but it's a heads up play. by Madar and shows. good effort. Most players would have just stayed home on their man on the weak side..
Not many highlights for Madar but the highlight video I watched was only 3:30 so not very long..

Was this the last game in Madar's career. Too bad if he has retired. Seems like he could have played longer.

Re: Welcome to Virtual Boston, Yam Madar!
Yam plays the game in too interesting/impassioned a way to be a Celtic.
But we'll always have those first 3-5 minutes of his summer league debut!

He's back! This is great.
Such a dramatic return cannot help but remind me of when Dave Cowens returned from his brief retirement during the 77-78 season. Depending on how Madar plays, it may some day be compared to when Michael Jordan returned from his retirement in 1995.

Maybe he'll still end up playing in Boston this year if there is a trade.

Re: Welcome to Virtual Boston, Yam Madar!
Don't forget about this guy.
He's balling out in one of the best league's in europe - playing for the best coach in Europe.
Looks more buff in the thumbnail image too.
In 21 games so far this season, he's shooting 43.8% from 3. He has a PER of 15.5 (very respectable, especially for a PG who just turned 21, playing in a competitive pro league). He has a net rating of +8.4. A TS% of 58.8. Assist rate of 22.4% and one stat that ops out to me is a rebounding rate of 8.5% which is very high for a PG, especially one who's only 6'3". That tells you this dude is hustling, he's out there fighting for rebounds.

His release is too low on his jump shot.

eh, maybe sometimes it is a little low. But look at his jumper here at the 44:47 mark. Looks decently high to me:

I'm going to keep watching and eating up all the stuff on the two kids, but I'm not letting y'all get into my head and make me excited AGAIN, until he's with the big club (if ever)! I was so pumped that Yam was coming over to stay that I got so into him... then game 1 happened and I thought, "OH YEAH WE WERE RIGHT HE'S THE GONNA BE THE ONE!" He's in Europe. Damn.
I'm "never" right when I let y'all trick me into loving these guys... the few I got right didn't make it to the team! Hali, Banes, and giannis! I tried to trick my mind into thinking Giannis wasn't better than Kelly!! I just didn't want it to be true!
Next draft I'm not looking at ONE SINGLE VIDEO, until the guy is on the big team! (this is likely a lie )
Thank you to everyone keeping us up to date! We appreciate it!
