I don't want Randle as my starting 4, and I don't think Obi's starting 4 material right now, but there's no denying that both could benefit from playing with a stretch 5 like Turner.

I love Mitch, but he doesn't fit with Randle and Obi. Or vice versa. Perspective.

I wonder if the Knicks interest in Grant has to either do with plans to send Mitch out or use him in a 3 way deal to get a bigger fish.

Detroit is one of the rare teams who probably won't mind taking on Fournier's long term money because most of their talent is on rookie or cheap deals anyway and since they are one of the worst shooting teams in the league they can use a real shooter next to Cade while they tank. They also could rehab Fournier's value like they did with Grant to try and get an asset from a contender down the line from him like they are doing with Grant- right now.

Knicks could give Detroit the assets they likely want (a 1st or 2 w/ Mitch + Fournier's money) and then re-route Grant somewhere like Portland for CJ or Philly for Simmons. I think that's mainly where the interest in Grant lies. But also while he isn't a great fit with our current roster we have a desperate need for wing sized guys who can actually defend. He provides that at the very least and he's better money than Fournier is. So out of pure value I think it would be a good deal to get. Guys in his archetype always fetch something decent on the market.

I can see it now:

Burks

Fox - It is the best name available (I dont believe Haliburton is). But it would be expensive and not a good fit with Randle (both are not great shooters and Fox plays fast while Randle plays slow).
Collin Sexton (for next season only due to his injury)
Jalen Brunson (he will be UFA next season, he is playing really well lately although too short for my taste)
Dennis Schroder (I hope not. He is not a great fit although he can be a cheap rental)
Derrick White (it will be great to have 2 Derricks as PGs)
Ben Simmons (I hope not, expensive and terrible fit)
Dragic (he is not so old...and should not be expensive)
Afernee Simmons (he will be RFA next season and it will be difficult to the Portland afford him due to luxury taxes, but he is not a floor general in any way)
Tyus Jones (he will be UFA next season, he is playing well although too short for my taste)
Kevin Porter Jr (to bring some fire to the locker room literaly)
Russel Westbrook (please god, no).
John Wall (we can dump some contracts...)
Caris LeVert (he cant shoot to be a SG...He can be a reasonable playmaker and a good slasher)
Eric Bledsoe (we could dump some contracts...)
Thomas Satoransky (he can be cheap because he is awful lately).
Markelle Fultz (Orlando has a logjam in PGs and Fultz is the odd man out. He can be cheap and he can learn how to shoot eventually. That strategy does not work out with Mudlay, DSJr, Frank and Payton. But once there is always a first time, right?)
Eldrid Payton - He is not playing in Phoenix. We know Thibs and Randle miss him very much...

Can someone explain why Turner and Sabonis dont work together?

Turner is a 5 you’d think works with most everyone since he can shoot and protect the paint. That’s exactly the type of 5 Sabonis needs next to him too. So whats the deal? We think its going to be different with Randle?

Dont see what the Pacers would even want from us in a trade. Id imagine a 3rd team would need to be involved. Mitch wouldnt make sense for them at all if Turner doesnt. Obi wouldnt fit unless they move Sabonis too. Maybe RJ, but Turner is more valuable than him.

Just dont see how it happens unless we give em a bunch of picks or whatever.

Why would you rerout him and why don't you think he fits?
