The funny part of this is that Obi could play really well off RJ if he's ready to take over lead offensive duties.

We got Rose and Kemba coming back at some point, so RJ just wont get featured enough with them and Julius, Fournier, Burks, Quickley, etc here.

It starts with Julius tho, if he’s going to stay. People are mad with him tonight but he had the best +/-. He did what many of us have wanted him to do, just to the extreme. If he did it out of spite then it backfired on him, because the rest of the team looked great with the ball not sticking.

All the players know we need to move the ball more. Their post game comments confirmed it even more. Julius wanted to be LeBron and carry the team on his back, but that clearly wasnt working out. Seems like the team hit a turning point. No way can they go back to the way things were. The fans wont allow it. Julius did us a favor actually.

You think Julius' ego will allow him to be content shooting 5 times and scoring 2 points a game? From what I read he only did it because he is crumbling under the pressure - that doesn't sound too altruistic.

RJ had another great game. Since the New Year he is starting to heat up, might have a 2nd half resurgence like he did last year.

I don’t understand the Randle criticism today. He did exactly what people on this board wanted him to do. He didn’t have it so he deferred to his teammates, got rebounds and moved the ball. Can the fans not nitpick his game and live or die on every shot Randle takes? Like enough is enough. Why is it so hard to root for every player on this team? There always has to be a scapegoat for why we are playing bad.

You can feel the amount of pressure every time Randle gets the ball, it’s like the fanbase is waiting on him to f*ck up so they can boo. No other player in the league is getting that kind of energy from their home fans. It’s no wonder Randle is playing reserved lately. Let’s just keep it moving and head to the next game, all this drama is distracting.

No other fanbase is getting this kind of energy from their "best" player. Julius sloppy play, poor body language and lack of effort this season put him in this position...not the fans.

So we should trade him so he doesn’t have to deal with it anymore right? :D

Chanel Bomber wrote:I love RJ, he just isn't good. At all.

He was by far our most important pick/player since Melo pre-knee surgery.

More important than Randle. More important than KP. More important than Ron Baker.

And we missed completely.

The most damaging side to this is we needed a point guard and Garland - whose game was perfectly tailored for the modern game - was right there for the taking. I leaned towards RJ in the end, but I don't get paid millions to make those decisions either.

This could turn out to be another one of those what if moments. Our drafting from 2017 to 2019 has set back the franchise another decade tbh.

Melo had 8 chances before he turned 21 & he had some horrific games shooting wise against SAS.

Spurs were lockdown teams much of the past 2 decades, except for past few seasons, so it's hard to score 30 pts in 1 game, let alone multiple in a season.
