Ah, finally, some specific information. They will return in the "not too distant future" but JI's return "seems farther out". That's quite an update.

Seems like JI had a setback because even at THIS point his return is still "farther out"? After damn near 18 months? Why not just say that? Look at how New Orleans handled zion... They announced he had a setback.... There was no hoopla...... Nothing taken out of proportion..... It was what it was... But not us.... For some reason, we're metal gear solid..... We have to move in silence...I'm just over this situation

Maybe he tripped when being interviewed by Ben Shapiro.

Good news though, I just saw on Isaac’s Instagram that his new Doc “Why I stand” is available for pre order on Amazon.

No clue if he will ever play basketball again, or if it’s even a priority, but atleast we have a new doc to watch from the player we haven’t seen in 18 months who just got a fresh extension from Weltman.

It’s not basketball related, as usual, but hey it’s something.

Good for him. I’ll definitely check it out.

I’m still holding out hope that he returns healthy. I really enjoy watching his skillset. As for his off court stuff, can’t blame him!

There’s no doubt in my mind he’s working hard to come back better than ever. I do wish for the organization to be more transparant..

Those updates are not updates.

We already knew Fultz has been practicing, and that's a step in the progression that is close to the player returning. He put two and two together, that's all.

Suggs is "healing" and his return depends on that. As opposed to what, not healing and having his return depend on a Magic 8-Ball response? This is a non update that contains no information.

Isaac is "further out." Well of course he seems further out, we haven't heard any official word on him in a long time and he's not practicing like Fultz. That's just an obvious conclusion, but anything else is pure speculation.

Speaking of pure speculation, that's what this thread is. We know nothing, good or bad. It's annoying but it is what it is. There's no evidence of his imminent return, nor is there evidence of a setback. There's no evidence of anything, good or bad. All we know is that the team will be extremely overly cautious and that he's still out indefinitely.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

It sounds like old information that Weltman said in his interview last month.

Did it take D Rose the same amount of time to come back? I’m sure Rose had a setback in his recovery as well?

I think they are giving Isaac a bunch of time to build some muscle/cardio back before throwing him out there into live action. Look how trash Okeke has been after taking half a year off of activity...

I was even more impressed with the solid take on Suggs “he’s healing and his return will depend on that” :banghead:

That’s an interesting theory and would make some sense, particularly in a lost season…having said that, did you just completely make it up?

His last 19 IG posts have been about pitching merchandise, the vaccine, or his ministry. You have to go back to March 2021 to find a post about him working to get back on the court. I'm not saying he's not working to come back, just saying what his IG feed reflects. No posts about his team, his teammates, his brothers on the court, wanting to get back out there to help them turn this franchise around. I'm sure he's put in the work, I just don't know why you extend a guy like this and make him your team's highest paid player.

Isaac is toast. Maybe the FO is holding him out so they can just use the option in his contract to not pay him the final years. (I believe that’s a condition in his contract) I doubt he suits up for another game with the Magic.

Did I make it up? Not sure what you mean. I don't have any idea what they are doing with Isaac. I am just pulling from experience with my friend who did MMA fights for some promotion in Nashville and when he would take longer than 6 months off for injury, his cardio was significantly lessened and he "forgot how to use his muscles".

I was honestly wondering if you were just speculating or if there was some source of info-your comment wasn't clear to me...I would be happy to hear that's what they're doing. I think of Zion's rookie season where they shut him down to work on jumping and landing mechanics BEFORE he blew himself up. I've posted before that so many Isaac highlights (particularly the Adventist commercial where he dunks hard) feature cringe-worthy foot placement. I don't know enough physiology to know exactly what's wrong...but something doesn't look right in his mechanics (kind of like when you see someone travel-you don't count steps, you just know it's not right).

Oof - I'm not an IG guy but that's all pretty telling. I wonder how that plays with our younger guys who live, breath, eat basketball while JI clearly has basketball way down the list of priorities.
