Raptors trade GTJ to upgrade at our weakest position and pickup a young starting 5 with star potential.

Suns do not want to pay Ayton a max for his role on the current team after handing out massive deals to Booker/CP3/Bridges. The Suns pickup a much cheaper replacement in Capela that already has experience playing with CP3. Capela can play Ayton’s current role on the Suns team (rim protector, roller, lob threat, screener, etc.). The Suns also get a big wing with potential to add to their rotation who has 2 cheap years of control.

Hawks fans want to move on from Capela and give more minutes to Okongwu. Bogdanovic/Williams are having a poor season. Hawks are struggling defensively this season and are looking at defensive upgrades. GTJ is a two-way wing that can drop 20 on any given night. Hawks also pickup two fairly recent 1st round picks still under the rookie contract to supplement their roster especially with extensions for Trae/Huerter kicking in next season. Hawks have needed a backup PG as Wright isn’t working out for them this year. Flynn has not been good this year but he did have a very good stretch to end last season when he got consistent minutes.

I really like Ayton and would love him on the team especially if the main outgoing piece is Trent. My guess is Suns won't trade Ayton during the season and will evaluate his playoff performance, and also offers he gets in the offseason.
The only thing I wonder is our comfort level of paying 2 max level contracts with Fred's contract basically expiring next season.
If the framework of the deal is Pascal for Ayton instead of Trent + FRP + young pieces, do you still do it?
