Felt this one was big enough news to get his own.

Will be interesting to see how much playing time he gets. I’ve looked at his box scores and he’s not getting much of a chance to generate a meaningful stint.

He could start if knowing plays doesn't matter.

Definitely talented enough to start but not sure what’s left in his tank to be honest. I watched him last night with Atlanta the last 4 minutes or so and he was deferring/letting the other second-third teamers go at it.

Wouldn't start ahead of Brogdon but if he's got anything left he could replace Sykes.

I wonder which point of desperation was greater for the Pacers. The desperate need to win games, or the desperate need to put fans in the fieldhouse?

I’m thinking this signing was mostly about a healthy veteran body for 10 days due to the Covid outbreak. Rather than signing another G league undrafted 10 day fill in. Just so happens they’ll reap the benefits of Lance fans coming out for a game or two. I’m thinking the win issue is an unrelated work in progress all about getting the players to play together, play defense, and execute offense sets which they struggle at instead of playing sloppy impromptu offense. Maybe Lance will impress enough to get a second 10 day. It’s so hard to judge right now if he can make a difference or just fill minutes and pass the ball to a regular. Whichever happens I would love to see active Lance pick and roll plus defense intensity.

Totally agree here. We’ve seen the league add 50+ guys on Covid 10 days and there’s only so many talented enough guys in the GLeague pool to go around. Add in a decent enough relationship with Lance and his agent, and it falls into place pretty easy.

Also, he was the 3rd different wing we added due to Covid. 4th if you count the Terry Taylor call up. That should tell you they think a lot of Lance, but not too awful much.

Yeah and I’m sure timing is a big thing because most teams had their wave of Covid 1-2 weeks ago and started signing players, then the G league was paused. Pacers are having to choose from a depleted pool of talent for sure.

I was and will always be a fan of Lance. I hope he can still play meaningful basketball and help bring some exciting moments to this dismal season.

The only Lance I didn’t like was stand at the 3 point line and do nothing Lance because either the (game plan, star players, or coaching) didn’t utilize his talents.

When Lance was involved it was fun to watch.

Scott Agness has a podcast with an interview of Lance's skill trainer. Google Scott Agness podcast.

His 10 day expired, so we’ll have to see something happen with Lance.

Reporters are saying Lance is signing a second 10 day hardship deal. This is as expected. It keeps the 15th roster spot open for possible deals. Lance will get his full year deal eventually.

Also, Covid hardship deals don’t count against the cap/tax, so there’s a huge benefit for the team there.

Gotta actually put him on the payroll now that everyone is off the Covid list, currently.

He originally was on a hardship covid contract but this one and the one that preceded it were the standard 10 day type. when it ends, they'll probably sign him to a guaranteed contract with some sort of option for next year.
