I like where your head is at, but I think Harris being attached to Simmons is because Morey is realizing he can't get Beal or Dame via trade. If he could he'd just do Simmons+ for Beal and both teams are likely happier. I think he is trying to clear enough cap space to go after Harden this offseason in free agency. Your trade brings him his star he'll have to extend so cap space doesn't matter again. I wonder if Philly would prefer your package over Harris though? I'm not sure Washington would want the extra Harris years though I could certainly be wrong on that. All in all way to put a twist on an otherwise overdone deal on this board ha!
Thanks!
I assume you're right that Morey wants James Harden in Philly badly and at least partly Harden wants to go there too. However with Harden not signing an extension early it maybe more difficult if he plans to opt out this summer.
Does Harden care about being able to sign a 4 year deal vs a 5 year deal?
He could opt-in this off-season and then be traded (similar to CP3 leaving LAC for HOU a few years back) & Philly wouldn't be concerned with the tax apron next season.
Would the GMs dare trade right now?
I think trading James Harden right now with Joe Harris would allow Brooklyn to take back Tobias Harris & Simmons.
It's sticky for Brooklyn because they could lose Harden & Irving this off-season so they need to be able to make sure they have good pieces around KD going forward. Will free agency give better returns?
(If the Harris' both take the other's former number after that trade above both franchises could save on inventory too LoL)
