Has Ja surpassed Luka?

Post#1 » by walk with me » Wed Jan 12, 2022 6:54 pm

Vote … simple question

Ja has been blazing hot and Luka has been pretty quiet… what are your thoughts.

In terms of this season he probably has. In terms of the future, that's harder to say. Luka has already shown he can play at a level or two higher. He's missed a lot of games and showed up out of shape. So he could easily turn it around next year.

Not yet. But the gap between them has gotten smaller.

This season Ja has been better but Luka has already had some really strong play-off series.

He's playing like a superstar, but can we see him in the playoff first? And when he plays, can we wait until he does what Luka did against all-time great defenders in Kawhi or PG13 (or good defenders in Beverly) that didn't want to be near Luka because he torched them so bad? I get your enthusiasm about Ja, he's playing phenomenally, but hold your damn horses.

Luka is out of shape, playing injured, and still posting better numbers than him.

He's been better than Luka this year.

Ja has been better this year but overall I still give Luka the edge. Ja has been closing ground though.

No easier way to see the differences between the two front offices than realizing that the Mavs skipped over Desmond Bane and also had the 31 and 36 picks and didn't move up to grab him either.

Grizzlies have an incredibly deep, athletic, and exciting roster and Ja is the perfect leader for that. Kudos to them.

I'll still take Luka but its very close.

Better this season. Not better than the best version of Luka we have seen in the last two seasons.

I am taking Ja over Luka anyday and twice on Sundays even though Luka is the better player.

But Ja is the better leader and gives his team so much confidence and swagger.

He's definitely having a better season but he's not the better player.

He's been the better player this year. I'd still take Luka on my team over him though. He's been good for longer.

Luka has already put in some insane playoff performances. Let's wait for some playoff runs from Ja before overreacting.

I think Luka has more than Ja at this point, but I don't think it's too early to ask, especially on this GB. Luka won a poll (or at least, was winning when I posted in it) for better playoff performer between him and Harden before he ever played his first PO game.
We gotta be consistent with our craziness on here.

By just about any metric he's still not even close to Luka's playmaking abilites, so i don't know how much more does Ja give to MEM than Luka would. Better shooting %'s this season? Sure, i can agree with that.

Weird, his team was pretty confident when he was out over weeks. Also Luka lead his teams allready to several titles.

But guess that doesnt count as much as like 25 regular season games

Can we compare other guys instead of selfish chuckers. THere seems to be one of those guys on eevery team these days. Somehow they even get decent assist numbers but mostly they are just calling their own number after taking 55 dribbles
