Who cares about team chemistry. If they wanted to stick together they would try to play perimeter defense. Instead we have 2 straight epic playoff collapses and once again we did nothing to address perimeter defense in the offseason. This team is clearly on the downside and with all these old guys the ball is going to start rolling fast. Particularly because Snyder shows no interest in developing younger players. What a waste of a season.

Pretty much, just don’t go the Jazz Nation page on Facebook, they don’t like being told the truth
Also, apparently the FO tried shopping Ingles over the summer but Snyder killed it, what the **** was Snyder thinking?
Ingles is cooked.

Trade Joe Ingles, Jared Butler, a future FRP and a 2RP for Christian Wood or Josh Hart. Be able to put a lineup on the floor without Conley for extended minutes if he's too small to have a defensive impact.

Conley/Mitchell/Bojan/Wood/Gobert, with Clarkson/Royce/Whiteside off the bench, is a contender.

The Jazz's problem is that when they face a team with four 6'8" thoroughbred athletes who switch and trap on defense, their system players like Joe Ingles get exposed on both sides of the ball. I'm assuming this is why the Jazz's front office reportedly lined up a trade for Ingles during the off season.

I wouldn't be interested in effectively using Joe as filler to get Hart. Hart is nice but that's too much to send out. What about Josh Richardson? I have to imagine Boston would at least consider Joe for Richardson straight up... I don't love it, still hoping to use the TPE for someone like Nwaba ... but, he's an above-average defender. Won't say great...and it saves some money, so perhaps that opens up the TPE for some other need (probably a backup point guard after the trade).

Hell no! Stop trading 1st rd picks! Butler is a player that we need to be developing rather than trading.

This is not a trade idea but a question... about the last message - Was Royce O'neal the last player that was 2nd round or undrafted player the Jazz really developed? How long ago was that? Was DM the last 1st rounder they really developed? Don't tell me they developed DOK.

I am not opposed to trading 1sts or 2nds. Players don't stay for very long either way (Team choice or player choice).

Just get the right damn player (athletic and long that can defend the perimeter).

Georges Niang probably. He became a rotation player. I'd also argue that Jordan Clarkson developed a bit since he's been here.

I'm not all that in on Jerami Grant, not that he'd be easy to trade for. Lets say Grant is a better player than Kyle Kuzma, but then the question is -- how much better is he, before taking into consideration the cost? Kuzma will guard on the perimeter, provide length and energy, and grab rebounds. Grant is more likely to make a big defensive play. Both are fairly comparable shooters. Neither are great decision makers.

With so many ten day call ups around the league due to covid, and many of these ten day players playing meaningful minutes in NBA games, there is going to be a few of these call ups that reveal themselves to be worthy of consideration for making an NBA roster. Hopefully the Jazz have scouts watching all these ten day players getting tryouts, as well as watching all the end of the bench guys who are finally getting chances to play meaningful NBA minutes. Maybe there is a young, available wing with Demarre Carroll three and D potential out there.

Getting another version of the Junk Yard Dog would be terrific! Hard to see the Jazz getting a player that will be an upgrade over the end of bench players currently on the roster but maybe there is an unpolished 3&D gem like JYD waiting for a team to see beneath the surface that can be the wing defender needed. :dontknow:

Would you trade Rudy for Ben Simons as part of a three team trade sending Rudy to Portland and Dame to Philadelphia?

How many picks are we getting from Portland and Philly because we are sending out the best player.
Ingles is cooked.

Even with three 1sts I wouldn't like that trade for you guys unless it is this offseason after an absolute bust of a post season where you are all but forced to make a trade just to shake things up. I feel like Gobert is too important to your team to move for a question mark in Simmons unless you are reseting around Mitchell's timeline.

Portland shouldn't have interest in Gobert if Dame is gone. Not saying they won't have interest, just saying they shouldn't because hopefully they are embracing a rebuild as opposed to trying to retool around guys not capable of making real noise in the playoffs without serious help.

This isn't realistic, just more of a curiosity I find myself thinking of for kicks and giggles:

Would you trade Mitchell for Dame? Ignoring if it would work within the cap, would you do it?

Anyway, I just really want the Jazz to stop dumping draft picks and find a way to get a perimeter defender. Unlikely scenario I'm sure.

Mitchell has been better this year. I assume Dame recovers next season, but I'd rather have Donovan long-term.

Don over Dame at this stage. As much as I love watching MC, MC for Dame would be the trade I would make, but there's probably no way financially it could work. Dreaming...

With the news out of LA that Paul George might be done for the year I wonder what it would take to get Batum?

Why not go for Morris and Batum?
