Re: Steph Curry: "2017 Warriors would win in 6 against the 96 Bulls"
Some of the things I have seen posted was
1) Bulls wouoldnt play in this era because they didnt shoot the three and wasnt good at it.
Kerr 51% on 3 attempts
Buchler 45% on 1.,5 per
Jordan 42% on 3.5
Kukoc 40% on 3
Scottie 37.5 on 5.5
2) The Defense of the Warriors that year was 18th in the league @107.6. Not great. Bulls was number 1 @101.8
Bulls had 3 of the greatest defenders of all time.
Curry would not be shooting over mike, Klay with Scottie and Rodman would be all over Durant. Durant would not be able to deal with the physicality that Rodman would have brought.
3) Offense
GSW had the number 3 ranked offense @ 113.6
Bulls #1 @115.2. Bulls had the better, more efficient offense. GSW played with a higher pace, that was it. But when teams score, your pace goes down because the team that scores has a chance to set up the defense.,
And a team like the bulls scored on more possessions than the Warriors, meaning that some of the greatest defenders of all time had a chance to get set before Curry/Klay/Durant could get running.

If the Bulls played exactly how they did - a ton of midrange shots - then yes the Warriors have a huge advantage. If they adapted to the more efficient offenses of today, then they'd have more of a chance.

So if I put the Warriors in 96 with the Bulls with the hand checking with physical play the Warriors don't make the finals. KD, Steph and Klay need freedom of movement to play their game, there was no freedom of movement in 96. Nobody could stop Jordan and they were allowed to put their hands on him all over the court along with extreme physical play. If played today I think the series is a toss up because Jordan would go crazy.

There would definitely be a sweep with no 3 point line

Re: Steph Curry: "2017 Warriors would win in 6 against the 96 Bulls"
No question. The 2017 Warriors had more talent, they played a more efficient style of basketball offensively, and were obviously much more versatile defensively.
It's not a fair argument though. Over time the NBA gets better. More talented, more skilled, and more knowledgeable on how to best play the game.
In fairness to MJ who is the greatest player of all time, if he and Pippen grew up playing basketball in the modern era and you put modern well-rounded role players around them instead of a bunch of specialist guys like teams had in the 90s then they could probably beat the Warriors.

Re: Steph Curry: "2017 Warriors would win in 6 against the 96 Bulls"
The real question is: who is coaching the Warriors? Because Kerr is playing for the Bulls. Is this one of those time-paradox things?
'Cos it's easier to try
Than to prove it can't be done
Than to prove it can't be done

If phil is the coach...it's warriors in at worst 5. Love phil and he was one of the important guys in how the game is today...but he's refused to adapt with time.

Jordan averaging 27ppg on 41% shooting (23.7ppg after Payton started guarding him) in the 96 Finals definitely proves your assertion.
Geez, imagine what he’d do to Andre Iguodala, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson & Livingston. All guys who are ill-equipped to handle Jordan’s godness.
Especially under the zone defense rules with elite snipers like Rodman, Harper & Longley surrounding him.

The problem is who the hell are Kerr & Buechler going to guard?
Not to mention, those numbers are irrelevant because they shot on a middle school 3pt line in the 96 season. Unless he thinks GS would shoot worst on a shorter 3pt line.
Curry would put up 12-13 3PA by himself — before we even talk about Durant only having take a step back from his normal mid-range zone & Klay being able to launch from anywhere.
What about Draymond who shot 41% from 3 during the 2017 playoffs?
If you put both teams on the court with no scouting report, the Bulls get blasted off the floor.

Well yeah, the natural evolution of the game. The real question is how would phil adapt his defense. Would he be stubborn as it was with the knicks in trying to build a mid range team? Curry is a faster more energetic Miller off ball which would be brutal for anyone to guard one on one, which means the bulls would have to switch, something they most certainly never built a defense on. It would be just a brutally difficult thing for them to adapt to with a scouting report. And it isn't like you can just get physical with Curry. The man's bleeding by the end of most games, constantly grabbed and unlike a lot of stars, he initiates contact off ball as much as he takes it.
That said bulls still have MJ...they aren't going down without a fight.

Under which NBA Rules?
90s rules with handchecking, no defensive 3 second rule, physical defense?
or 2010s cupcake defense?
in fact, Jordan would be even MORE lethal in todays cupcake defense.
'96 bulls in 6.
