FRP = First Round Pick

No for expiring help.

But if it's for help that has a longer contract that makes sense for us, then yes.

No. The FRP will bring us help through the draft.

I wouldn't trade our pick unless we feel we can get a starter out of the deal, which is unlikely. And of course that would have to be weighed against the salary hit that said player would come with. We're probably better off relying on our scouting ability to draft someone that can be impactful on a rookie salary vs having to shell out more for a more proven quantity.

We got Lowry by trading a 1st round pick. If the right deal is on the table then do it up.

Dragic + 22 FRP for Eric Gordan. He's playing like an all star and is under contract through 2024 with the last year being a team option. He fits the Fred/Pascal timeline and his contract would be tradeable if we decided to flip him.

I'd wait until closer to the deadline to make sure we're not going to fall back down to Earth but if we keep winning like we have since everyone got healthy then it's no longer going to be a development year anyways so we might as well look at using Dragic's contract (by itself useless) and getting some help.

Del wants us to trade a lottery protected pick and then tank so we're in the lottery.

What about positional change? Rockets get a PF so they can try to trade Christian Wood? :reporter:

Raptors get: Eric Gordon

Atlanta gets: Goran Dragic

Rockets get: Danilo Gallinari and 2nd pick (Atlanta)

I wouldn't mind trying out Bamba to see if he can be a reclamation project. But a first round pick he is not currently worth.

i would have rather taken a flyer on reddish vs trading a pick for gordon.

gordon is player you trade for as a final piece to a championship team, not to improve a borderline playoff team.

DelAbbot is sort of like an AI but it's been programmed to tank, and is now trying to learn to be on team compete, but it doesn't really know how.

I think a better question would be trading the 2023 1st round pick. But there seem to be some stealth TWO posters on this board.

Not trading future picks unless for an allstar calibre player or packaged for an upgrade to an elite player.

He's a RFA this summer and he hasn't shown much to warrant a 1st. Don't want to be the team to overpay his next contract.
