Re: Knicks Get Reddish per Woj
Cam Reddish shoots 90% from the line 42% on C&S and is 6’8 with a 7’0 wingspan. He can be the best 3&D wing in the league if he wants, the question is will he accept that role.
And there is this….

Knox will flourish in ATL spotting up for 3s. Knicks will regret trading him.

Re: Knicks Get Reddish per Woj
between knox and cam, i think cam has a better chance of fulfilling his potential.
whenever knox got minutes all did was spike the ball out of bounds instead of rebounding the ball, and chucking threes.

We traded a first round draft pick - that potentially could've been included in a package deal for the star that you've been longing for - for a player whose career FG% is barely above Frank and Knox.

He is always hurt. His stats are bad too. Just like Lance if he is playing, things aren’t going as planned.
He got solid minutes in Atlanta last year for a good team. Hell when they started playing him instead of Cam the team vastly improved.
True but like I said something had gone wrong. I think Hunter was injured, and almost all the minutes Cam and Solomon got would have gone to him instead. Grand scheme of things what the Knicks paid was fair market value for a young big wing with upside and sent the same player to a lesser degree back with a protected pick. Cam has upside and maybe the Knicks could help him reach it. He’s definitely more in line with recent picks like Frank and Knox than he is with guys like RJ, IQ, Obie, and Mitch. I actually think the Knicks should draft another wing this year as well. A rotation of good players at every position unless you have a top 5 in that position is what teams need to win these days. Especially in the era of COVID.

And got traded for a reason.NoDopeOnSundays wrote:BugginOut wrote:NoDopeOnSundays wrote:Thibs will never do it, but we legitimately have the personnel to finally play true small ball with heavy switching.
IQ
Grimes
RJ
Cam
Randle or Obi
Switch everything on the perimeter, like the Raptors or Warriors do, hide IQ on whoever is the stand in corner shooter.
Cam can’t play the 4. Though he’s 6’8 he can’t guard big PF because he isn’t that built. He also does not rebound well.
Maybe he can play if another team goes small, but he is mostly a 3 or a 2 like Fournier.
He's the same size as Obi, he's played 20% of his minutes at the 4 this year, and 40% his rookie year.

So instead of RJ being the only decent wing defender, now we have 2. So long as his shot stays, he'll have a place in the league
So I looked into this "improved shooting from three" quickly.
lReddish has played 34 games this season, and is absolutely shooting 37.9% from downtown. But last month he went crazy one week in two of those games (12/22 and 12/27) when he was 6-10 and 8-13 from deep.
In the other 32 games he is shooting just 33.8% (44-130). So while he still has the talent, I don't think that "38% from three this year" tells us what we want it to.
I don't know if you're considering this or aware of it, but....
Yeah but every three point shooter is going to go 5/8 or 6/9 or some **** a few times a year. This is like simple nature of statistical variance or whatever. Hell you're somewhat likely to hit a 1/100 lotery if you buy 82 tickets in a year.
Maybe I'm missing something.

Let's playin for 9th!

Still worth what we gave but he just feels like a dude who is going to drive us crazy. Will show flashes and then maybe get overpaid because he “has all the tools”. His +/- stats are def worrying.
But hey f*ck it, let the Paul George comps fly baby lol.
Wtf what gives you that impression that he is low IQ, low motor, with attitude issues?
I been watching his interviews and he just seems like a team first guy that just wants to play
I agree he is injury prone, which is problematic for young players because these early years are when they learn the skills they rely on most of their career.
Availability is an underrated skill that defines a lot of young athletes.
I don't think its a much of a problem (for now). He had a major injury last season and it doesn't appear to be chronic. He is not a player with tons of little injuries. He played:
1 season 58/67 games -87%
2 season 26/72 games - 36%. He missed 42 games due to a specific injury.
3 season 34/39 games - 87%
