I have zero interest in Simmons for Jaylen or anyone else.

Yes they are, just like the Blazers rode with Lillard and McCollum. I don't hate Tatum and Brown. They are very good players. If you were here in 2017, you may remember that I was Tatum's strongest supporter in that draft, when have of this board wanted to select Markelle Fultz.
But am I happy with 40 wins year after year? Not particularly.
No, that was me, check the tape - called bs on Fultz and hyped Tatum immediately
Me too. Go back and look.
I have checked the tape, and the results were... revealing:

True dat, bro. JJ is the gifted love child of Grant Hill and Scottie Pippen on steroids. #18 incoming by 2022, guaranteed!

Wizards are on the right track and just need to toe the line and hope their young players develop. Beal isn't coming to BOS unless he demands a trade and it's for Jaylen and this board would lose its mind. WASH is exactly where Jaylen should be since politics is his first love and what he 100% will be pursuing after his career is over. There's no better place for that then D.C. I'm surprised it hasn't happened already tbh and the only thing that makes sense for why is that Beal is the one who doesn't want to come here.
I'm wondering why we didn't get Reddish if he was available. I mean, it cost them nothing. But then I remember that Ime is a buffoon and Reddish would probably sit behind Richardson and Grant so Brad didn't bother.

Yes, lets blow it up and draft a bunch of questionable 20 year olds and many of us will be have passed or suffer from dementia when they "possibly" win. Great strategy as a fan.

Re: Last Train to Celticsville Trade Thread
There is nothing to blow up here. The plan is to add a 3rd star. Until that happens, you try to add better fits next to Tatum and Brown.
I'm not liking the wins against the Pacers. I want to be sellers at the deadline because we need to acquire assets by trading Schroder because if we keep him for the rest of the season, then he walks and we get nothing. Let's regroup in the offseason.
I don't want Jeff Green. I like Jeff and he can help this team for a season or two, but we need a few good young players other than Tatum and Brown.
Brad will be looking to move Romeo in the next 3 weeks. Maybe Nesmith too, but I hope we keep Nesmith.
Richardson probably stays. Smart probably stays and is moved in a bigger trade in the offseason unless Brad can get his 3rd star in the next season weeks.
The trade deadline is fun. We still have about 8 games or so before the team knows if they will be buyers are sellers. Right now, since the East is wide open and we've crawled back to .500, we are looking like buyers.

I would, but I’d think most here wouldn’t.

Re: Last Train to Celticsville Trade Thread
You all are gonna hate me, but I'm really bored in a meeting:
BOS in: Collins, Westbrook, Bradley, Howard
BOS out: Horford, Smart, Schroder Hernangomez, Bruno, Nesmith, 2022 first, 2023 swap
ATL in: Grant, Smart, 2023 swap w/ Boston
ATL out: Collins, Gallinari
LAL in: Horford, Schroder, Hernangomez, Bruno
LAL out: Westbrook, Bradley, Howard, 2027 first
DET in: Gallinari, Nesmith, 2027 LAL first, 2022 BOS first
DET out: Grant
ATL improve defense, move off disgruntled Collins. Detroit cash in on Grant. Lakers dump RWB experiment and bring back Schroder.
And C's roll out:
Westbrook
Brown
Tatum
Collins
Timelord
Think you can still do a BOS/ATL/DET simpler version without RWB and with C's getting Delon Wright, but I'd still be willing to take a punt on RWB (I know I'm alone in this).

It´s a great trade for both teams. Gordon and Sabonis is a great combo. Hornets need a center.

Yeah, Hornets need a center, but not sure why Indiana wants Hayward, arent they looking to move off of salary?
I have to assume a deal would be
Hayward
Lamb and Turner
That means Indy would have 90+ million tied up in
Hayward
Brogdon
Levert
Sabonis
With another 35+ million tied up in players and deadcap (not including pick)
and that isnt counting on Warrens' caphold/new salary

I would make those deals I think. if nothing else it would be a fun team.
I proposed something similar yesterday with Detroit excluded.

Uh, what? Fallguy was saying if we traded Rob for Beal, should we look to move Jaylen for better roster balance. Which fallguy himself said he would look into, because having three score first wings as your three best players may be tough.
If you’re going to attack someone, read what is actually said first. Next time I see you make a non Jaylen related post, it will be a first. Buzz off.

Am I wrong or is it more likely to get Beal now than in the offseason?

It all comes down to what Beal wants to do, timeline wise. I think he’s more likely to just play out the season there, but who knows, maybe he’s finally ready.

yeah it would seemingly be via S&T this offseason. At which point Boston wouldn't have to give up as much if Beal informs the Wizards he would like to be traded. Wizards agree to S&T to recoup something in return, but it wouldn't be nearly as much as they would get on the open trade market at the deadline. As always, goes back to what Beal wants to do. To me, it's shaping up that he's going to want to leave.

I personally believe it's a pipe dream and Beal is going to take the supermax with Washington. The only way things change is if the Wizards don't offer Beal the supermax. They will.

Re: Last Train to Celticsville Trade Thread
Blazers get Al, Nesmith, Kanter, 1st
Celtics get Powell, Covington, Zeller
Smart, Powell, JB, Tatum, Rob
Bench of Covington, Richardson, Schroder, Grant, Pritchard, zeller, langford. Or start Covington at the 4 and Powell is your 6th man.
Or Nurkic and Powell for Richardson, Hernangomez, Nesmith, Schroder (and Kanter if they want him tossed in to absorb nurks minutes).
Both trades allow Portland to clear some future cap and get some minor assets. You'd have to play at least a few double big minutes with nurk and Bob, but nurkic stretches the floor better than Horford at this point.
SAC, ATL, and POR are the teams to watch in my mind that should all be sellers and have interesting pieces. Powell, Covington, nurkic, and Nance are all at least somewhat interesting to me from Portland. Fox, Heild, Barnes, bagley from Sac. Collins, Bogy, Huerter, etc. From ATL.
This is turning into a brain dump, but would people trade JB for Zion?

re: Boston giving up more now than in offseason.
If Beal tells washington he is going to leave and sign with Boston in the offseason so they can trade him now if they want, the deal should, imo, be the same. What other team is going to outpay the Celtics if Beal says he is playing for the Celtics in 2022-2023 season?

I would gladly do the first trade if Portland wanted too.
I think they are more apt to want to trade Nurkic than Zeller though, and I would immediately look to flip Covington to the Bulls for Brown Jr and White.
So something like
Horford, Schroder, Nesmith, Juancho
for
Nurkic, Roco, Powell
Then as mentioned, Ideally there is a thrid team to deal Roco or Nurkic to.
Although I would like to add, we basically have Powell right now in Richardson
Shooting numbers are identical
defense is equal
Powell more ppg with more shots
JRich should be starting.
