Hes unhappy there because he's the 2nd big man after Sabonis and gets utilized that way offensively. He's limited to mainly being a 3 point shooter since Sabonis dominates the mid to low post area.

Over here, he'll be our primary big man who will be able to operate a lot more freely depending on matchups. Then it'll come down to his skill level as to how much he gets used rather than fit.

Also question his fit on the roster. He couldn't play with a dominant big and he's coming here to play with Barnes and Pascal. We also need to ask the question what do we want our C to do in this line-up. That I'm not sure.

3-way?
Boucher + TOR protected first
Maybe Dragic for protected pick + cap relief (going to indy) for another team

So you're laughing at getting Turner for Lowry +1st but have no issues with getting Dragic/Precious for Lowry? LOL

Just because we got an underwhelming return for Lowry in a sign and trade doesn't mean you hold that same value for future transactions. Really hope I don't have to explain this further to you lol.

Brinbe wrote:Please, please, please. I'd definitely add him for the right deal. Especially if he's obtainable without touching the core 4 (5 if you include GTJ)

He I think he would fill that Gasol spot perfectly. Adding a rim protecting stretch five that can be a presence against other big Cs can only be a good thing. And he's entering his prime now but is still pretty young.

That he provides two-way value and a little of everything without needing huge usage numbers is exactly what they look for in players and his elite skill (shot blocking/rim protection) strengthens us where we're maybe not so strong as compared to steals/deflections. Plus his ability to stretch the floor can further unlock this offense, especially playing off Fred, Pascal, Scottie, OG.

I can see why they'd be interested.

I don't think we can pay Turner, VanVleet and Trent at the same time. Both VanVleet and Trent will have their player option, and if they declined, we may only able to afford two of the three.

Barnes will fill Gasol on offense and Green on defense, while Turner will fill Gasol on defense and Green on offense.
Perhaps we are just hoping OG can be Leonard lite with Siakam also taking some of the duty.

I'd rather play and develop an inexpensive talent like Precious than give up significant assets for a player like Turner who isn't a star and who isn't cheap.

As long as Siakam can improve his skill to play SF (which he has been doing with the bench) and Barnes can improve his skill to play PG (which he has been doing with the bench), Turner will be an addition. We saw Boucher who works with our big-lineup, I think Turner who is bigger would work the same. However, I think we need another PnR/PnP handler to get some easy basket for our bigs.
Fit shouldn't be the biggest issue.

Are we that desperate that we'd give up multiple years of 1st round picks + other assets for Myles Turner?

Dont get me wrong, I'd be overjoyed if we could land Myles Turner but theres a lot of interpretation on"multiple firsts". Is it 2, 3, 4?

Especially for a guy who only has 1 year left on his contract.

Multiple firsts isn’t happening. Gary maybe if they decide already not to pay him.

"Multiple FRPs" is hilarious, a heavily protected FRP next year is all I'd give.

It's not a good year to participate in the trade market. There's no obvious finalists and a lot of teams that are in the mix to make playoff runs. The Raptors likely have a bid on some of these guys, but they have never been the type to trade future firsts to support a middling team (which is what they currently have).

We paid Serge a few bucks:
2016-17 Toronto Raptors NBA $12,250,000
2017-18 Toronto Raptors NBA $20,061,729
2018-19 Toronto Raptors NBA $21,666,667
2019-20 Toronto Raptors NBA $23,271,604

And paid Marc a few bucks:
2018-19 Toronto Raptors NBA $24,119,025
2019-20 Toronto Raptors NBA $25,595,700

We do pay guys when it matters. :D We've managed the budget last year and this year to get out of the repeat payer bracket which leaves us room to grow into a championship quality team.

The NBA is like the Ontario housing market. Everyone asking a million $ for their $500K house.

dragic + achiuwa and a lotto protected first

but that being said, who sits at end of game, i feel nurse will give turner the short end of the stick there, and for that reason i am not that interested in turner.

closing lineup has 4 fixed players, barnes; pascal, og, fvv. comes down to turner and trent for the 5th spot.

I don't see Gary as available. I think GTJ is part of the "core".

The assets being dangled in a trade approaching the deadline I think are...Dragic, Flynn, Boucher, Svi, Yuta and maybe Khem (if absolutely necessary). There might be 2nd round picks being traded as well...but I doubt 1st round picks are being traded unless it's for a player on a rookie contract or signed more than the next 2 seasons.

Multiple 1sts? LOL . For 1.5 seasons? These GMs are delusional.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.
